Located at 580m AMSL we enjoy a cooler climate than in Kandy city. We usually serve local dishes to our uest as breakfast but provide western dishes on request

Shan and his wife were excellent hosts. They took care of every little detail to make our stay comfortable. It felt like second home. We enjoyed the delicious home cooked meals by his wife. We would love to come back to Perideniya again.

I have had the great pleasure to stay with Shan and his family in September. It was my very first visit to Sri Lanka and it definitely will not be the last because from the first day I arrived Shan asserted that I should make myself feel at home. He took me for beautiful walks to explore Kandy and also assisted me to arrange visits to famous sites such as Sigiriya and the beautiful tea fields in Nuwara Eliya. Every time I returned home after a beautiful day spent, Shan's wife, Shanka had prepared a delicious dinner meal for everyone, including their daughter Mitna and the family's friend Kana, where we gathered like one family chatting around the table.

When I went to my room for the first time I was amazed by the spacious area that I was offered: an en-suite room with a double-bed. The first reaction I had when I opened the windows was gasping when I saw the stunning misty hills of the Hanthana Mountain Range in the horizon. The fresh breeze and the singing birds added additional charm to the place.

I can't thank this family enough for making my time in Sri Lanka very special. Therefore, I highly recommend this family to stay with, they will impress you with their generosity and hospitality throughout the time of your stay.

I am most certain that I have made wonderful friends whom I'm going to visit again! Until then, I wish all the best for the misty hills and their guests!

Misty Hills - Peradeniya: A home away from home! Although my husband and I were to stay in Misty Hills only on the last three days of our 6 day Lanka trip, we got superlative assistance from Shan on how to commute to different places in Lanka and the do's and don'ts even before and after we landed in Lanka. Shan and his family were more like my parents checking on us if we boarded the bus and inquiring our whereabouts and safety every now and then. They were much, much more than mere hosts. What would other hosts do if you asked them directions to their homestay? They would guide you with landmarks or share their google map with you. But the Shans were standing at the bus station for a long time waiting for our arrival and accompanied us to their home, themselves. That's how wonderful they were! Right from the moment we met them in person, stepped into their house and saw our spic-and-span room, with fabulous furniture and amazing views from the window, we practically became a family. When we requested them not to trouble themselves to prepare breakfast for us as we were to leave in the wee hours of the morning to Sirgirya, they insisted big time that they would pack breakfast for us not minding the fact that they had to wake up way too early to get it done for us. What would other hosts do if you told them it was your birthday tomorrow? They would probably come up to and wish you "Happy Birthday!" But the Shans were far beyond that! They kept themselves awake till we reached home from a long day at Sirgirya and surprised us with a yummy chocolate cake and too many other delicacies. On the last day of our trip, I fell sick and they went out of their way to get me back on my feet with all the home-remedies. I am way too happy the Lanka trip happened for us, the foremost reason being, we got to meet such wonderful people - The Shans! Now we know, we have a family back in Lanka in addition to the one in India. That's how special they are to us now!
Misty Hills-Peradeniya : Epitome of Hospitality!

Shan and his family were so warm and welcoming. My husband and I felt instantly comfortable.
They were great with contact, and advice before we arrived, and insisted on meeting us and our taxi driver in the middle of the night to escort and ensure our safe arrival.

The room is lovely with the most magical view into the valley and hills. The bed made me feel like a princess. The bathroom was clean and functional and there was always a hot shower if you needed one ( The Sri Lankan climate was encouraging me to have cold showers!!)

We devoured the Sri Lankan home cooked breakfast both days, and we were kindly offered dinner during our stay which was equally if not more delicious!

Shan and his very knowledgable daughter kindly hosted us to the tooth temple which we had previously not known about. They expertly and very personably toured us around the grounds giving us its history along with their own personal insight with their experiences there. It was simply magical.

The only thing I would change is to stay longer!! :)
