About the Homestay

Urban Unusual

The home is a typical Thai town house 20 minutes from Central Bangkok. There are 2 connected bedrooms, both with queen beds and air conditioned and a private bathroom is allocated for guests.
40 metres from the door are 24/7 taxis and a mini bus service every 5 minutes to the nearest sky train station, Banjaak, and the area has local restaurants and (safe) street food stalls available all day.

Your hosts are Tony (Aussie) and Bor (Thai), an empty nest couple who love having guests.
We have travelled throughout Asia in general and extensively in Thailand and our collective knowledge of customs, tourist / shopping areas and Bangkok in general allows us to guide our guests with advice throughout their stay.

To further enhance the experience we also provide an airport meet and greet and a free orientation day to several tourist areas using multiple means of public transport so our guests feel more comfortable moving about the city on their own. As an extra service we also teach some basic Thai phrases to help communication.

Jn short we are a couple who enjoy the company of diverse people and we love to help make a guests stay both enjoyable and memorable.

The trip to Central Bangkok takes about 15-20 minutes, so you have the best of both worlds, an opportunity to experience the real Thai experience but within easy reach of the central tourist and shopping areas.

This is my first time to travel alone to stay with locals and it was a great experienced. Tony is very accommodating and so friendly, am very comfortable with the place (the house), on my first day I planned to go out and roam around but I choose to stay because the room is so cozy. The following day Tony accompanied me to some places and the mall. The food nearby the house are so cheap and reasonable.
I'm pretty sure that I will come back again!!!

Fantastic knowledge of surroundings in Bangkok . Thanks , Tony . Your advice regarding getting around and food places was invaluable . Convenient location , at the same time as being off the main track a little , and nice quiet area . Recommended to all .

Traveling with my 18 year old daughter. A real Thai neighborhood. Foreigners for the most part are not around, and prices cheap as locals are their customers. Great street food selection steps away. Tried a lot without worry of getting sick. Tony is an older Aussie with much knowledge of Thailand and very helpful. Bor is always smiling and laughing. The rooms are upstairs and connecting with a sliding door. Each has a good air con unit and a queen bed. One of the beds is newer and very comfortable. You have exclusive use of a bathroom on the ground level at bottom of the stairs. Free water throughout the stay and even did a load of laundry in their machine. Very convenient access to mini-buses which run up and down the street all the time and take you to the Skytrain which is about 10 minutes away. From there you have access throughout Bangkok. Highly recommend if you're looking to have a more local Bangkok experience.

This was the perfect first stop on our journey. We flew in separately and my flight came in very late. Tony was waiting at the corner store when my taxi pulled up and the next morning we went to the airport and met my girlfriend. He was our tour guide the next day and showed us around Bangkok, which is very helpful we couldn't imagine navigating the city without his advice. Highly recommended if your flying into Bangkok!

My stay with Tony was great, he really changed my whole opinion about Bangkok.
For some reason I had always had a difficult and frustrating time when I visited Bangkok and this time wanted to make things right, I have the idea I would stay with somebody he lived as a local there to get more of a locals experience and I certainly got more than I bargained for staying with Tony!

    Thanks Ryan, review much appreciated.
Pity your stay was so short, so much more to the real Bangkok and surrounds that you did not get to see during your brief stay.
Best wishes on the rest of your Asian journey and please keep us in mind when you pass this way again.
It was a pleasure to host you and you are more than welcome to stay with us again any time you like.
    Happy travels

Wow this was a amazing place to stay, Tony is such a kind caring host with all your interests at heart. He met me at the airport, which was a great help for for my nerves on my first solo travels he went to the pharmacy for me when I was sick and helped me learn lots of Thai language that would be helpfull on my journey he showed me round the city helping me get a local sim card and taught me about the different transport options I could use. I look forward to meeting him again and would recommend his home to anyone who is arriving and staying in bangkok. Unfortunately I did not meet his wife Bor as she was away but I heard lots of kind things about her. Thankyou Tony I feel like I have made a friend for life, best wishes. Nat

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this very convenient and comfortable homestay. Tony was extremely welcoming and helpful and went so far as to not only meet us at the airport but he also took us to several very interesting and non-tourist markets and places of historical interest. It was great to get away from the normal tourist traps and see some of real Bangkok. We thoroughly recommend this location and send many thanks to Tony for looking after us so well.

    Hi Scarlett
Sorry, lost your email address and this is the only way I could contact you.
Thought you would like to know, the lady from the folk museum is in hospital on IC.
Trying to get a cat from the roof and fell off the balcony (I can relate to that), not a good idea at 82 years old. Head injuries, prognosis unknown but reports in local newspapers regularly.
Once again, sorry to be bearer of bad news but thought you should know in view of your interest in her and the project.
    Regards
    Tony

Friendly hosts. Great location. Almost the perfect stay!

Our hosts Tony and Bor took good care of us. Tony picked us up from the Airport because it's not possible to find their home on your own. After we recovered from the long flight Tony went on a trip with us. He showed us the local transportation system, where to eat and how you get back home by yourself. During the trip Tony also told us some advices and tips about what we should avoid and how to save money as a foreigner because the locals often charge you more.
This trip really was the perfect start for our holidays in Bangkok. We learned a lot of things that saved us money and helped us to get along without problems.

Tony and Bor are a lovely couple. Tony is relaxed and very friendly. It's good to talk with him as most of the locals won't speak english. Bor is a sweet and happy Thai-Lady who cared a lot about us. We felt like family!
They liked to sit together with us and we talked about a lot of things. They invited us for dinner a few times. Delicious crab and northern-thai Isan food!

The area Tony and Bor are living was great! Everything you need is near you. Two little super markets, a lot of local restaurants and vendors, Internetcafés (for gaming) and public transportations. The people were friendly and we felt very safe.

Staying at their place was a quite comfortable experience. Our room was nice. We could use their fridge and their washing machine. Bor will let you in when you come back late. Our private bathroom was downstairs. Sadly it doesn't look like the pictures anymore. The bathroom was not really clean and a bit smelly.

Thank you Tony and Bor! Our stay with you was great :)
We recommend their place for everyone who wants to see more of Bangkok than most of the tourists do.
