Helpful hosts, Tony and Bor, who provide great tips, tricks and advice to get the most fun from your Thai holiday
The home is a typical Thai town house 20 minutes from Central Bangkok. There are 2 connected bedrooms which are rented individually only to related parties. Both have queen beds and are air conditioned and a private bathroom is allocated for guests.
40 metres from the door are 24/7 taxis and a mini bus service every 5 minutes to the nearest sky train station, Banjaak, and the area has local restaurants and (safe) street food stalls available all day.

Your hosts are Tony (Aussie) and Bor (Thai), an empty nest couple who love having guests.
We have travelled throughout Asia in general and extensively in Thailand and our collective knowledge of customs, tourist / shopping areas and Bangkok in general allows us to guide our guests with advice throughout their stay.

To further enhance the experience we also provide an airport meet and greet and a free orientation day to several tourist areas using multiple means of public transport so our guests feel more comfortable moving about the city on their own. As an extra service we also teach some basic Thai phrases to help communication.

Jn short we are a couple who enjoy the company of diverse people and we love to help make a guests stay both enjoyable and memorable.

Tony Was Awesome the Home is perfect for the Budget. Couldn’t ask for a Better Host.
Think we may have been spoilt as he well and truly did more than was listed. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Bor as she was away with family obligations but we will catch up when she’s back.

Clean Rooms we booked Botha as we have our 12 year old Daughter with us.
    She loved the Free wifi.
    Free water
Free cable so she was happy as.
I have learnt so much more being under Tony’s roof than I would have had I booked an apartment. Street wise in Thailand is import not for safety but more so for peace of mind.
And Toni taught us that and more.

We are all comfortable with hello and thank you and a few numbers greetings to the elders

We visited some great places and ventured out on our own and made it back thanks to Toni.

Your are awesome tony and my family and I thank you.

    William Harri And Paige.

Thanks to great host, Tony and Bor, I was able to enjoy my first travelling to Thailand from the heart. They are such a sweet couple that I always feel comfortable and relaxed around them. Bed room was very clean and big enough for me. I also like the location of their place, which enables me to experience real local Thai life and wasn't too far from the center of the city. As I took a one-day orientation tour offerd by Tony, I quickly become comfortable moving about on my own. It was very helpful. Thank you for taking care of me. I'll definitely visit Thailand again.
    いつもニコニコ、とても素敵なホストです。現地の生活を体験したい方には特におすすめ。中心地にも楽にアクセスできるので、1人で出掛けるのも安心。

Tony's place was basic and comfortable just what we were expecting and looking for. Location was fine ... in a real Bangkok neighbourhood with access to public transport. Tony was a very informative, helpful and available host who steered us in the right direction many times ... he seemed to "have our backs" as it were. It was a good choice for us on a first visit it Bangkok.

    Thanks Jamie
Hope you and the rest of the crew are enjoying your rambles around Thailand and I have already recommended "Salty Towers" as a Canadian destination to our subsequent guests.
    Happy travels,
Tony and Bor (now back home, sorry you missed her).

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay with Tony and Bor. Bor is always smiling and laughing and both of them really made us feel at home. Day one, Tony took us out an showed us how to get around and how to barter like a local. The room was clean and quiet and had air conditioning. I would recommend booking with Tony and Bor. We are looking forward to our next visit.

I already had pretty high expectations from the start, since Tony seemed to get a lot of excellent reviews. And I can only say that my stay fully lived up to that - and more. Like others described, Tony is the kind of host that makes you feel at home without getting in your way. He made me feel safe and comfortable in the big city and was very aware of my preferences. He is so knowledgeable about thai culture and society and has lived a long life, which is one of the best ways to get good stories - and that is what I live for. If you are into shopping and 5 star hotels with European standards - choose that instead! I will definetely recommend this homestay to my friends❤️.

    Great host in Thai-only area!!!

I highly recommend Tony & Bor for anyone willing to experience the Thai way of living in a comfortable, clean and safe accommodation.
Located few minutes minibus ride from Bang Chak station (BST), Tony made me feel at home in a foreign country, and provided a deep insight on how to move around in the city. He showed me around on the first day, recommended where and what to eat and warned me on what to avoid. In addition, he also enjoyed sharing time together, and the occasional meal which was very nice and unexpected. I was so happy with my stay that I decided to return when hitting Bangkok again.

If you're looking to get a real hint on Bangkok and Thai culture, and avoid the touristic highways, look no further.

Tony is a cheerful man who is quite passionate and knowledgeable about Thai culture. His wife was away at the time so we didn't meet her. He smoked around our daughter which we didn't enjoy, and we were a little surprised at how much we ended up spending on the tour he takes you for so I would only recommend clarifying the details ahead of time which we didn't do. He is generous with his home including shower towels, letting us use kitchen to cook at home, included bottled water throughout stay, and letting us use washing machine. Basic accomodation but overall good stay for the cost.

    Hi Tonya
    Interesting review.
I wouldn't point out that our site clearly states that smoking is permitted in outside areas i.e. The upstairs balcony and the open fronted garage area and at no time during your stay did I smoke inside the house.
Your comments on our free tour were also not appreciated as I provided my services for free for the day as promised with the only cost benefit to myself being a 60 baht train ticket. The object of the day is to show our guests how to get around the city using various means of transportation.

    Overall the experience was amazing.
Following more details about my stay with Tony .
I stayed with him for 6 days. I decided to go to Thailand pretty spontaneously and so the first night after landing in Bangkok I stayed at another location because the room was still booked for another person. However upon contacting Tony he instantly recommended me a location to stay close by and told me how to efficiently get there.
The next day Tony picked me up at that location and took me to his place. Superb service. I was taught in local customs and culture and rightly made aware of some rules to follow.
The next day he invested time and resources and gave a very knowledgeable induction of Bangkok and how to confidently make it around the city independently. Then I was ready to explore Bangkok on my own.

He also created a binder with tour recommendations catering all tastes. If you have any type of question he kindly answers them.

Interestingly and most importantly he experienced a lot in his life and he has many intriguing stories to tell.

    Putting a long story short, if you are looking for a unique experience and want to immerse yourself into Thai culture and then you intend to explore greater Bangkok by yourself;

Then without any doubt I recommend staying here with him.
The guest stands in the center for him and is not just a business transaction.

Tony met us st the airport as promised and got us a taxi back to his place. The next day he took us for a tour and orientation while showing us how to get around in Bangkok. He even set me up with someone to replace my phone that had been stolen in Africa. Great to have a phone again. Tony was a wealth of information about Bangkok and things to do and always helped us get a cab when needed. The location is in the real Bangkok and we really enjoyed the local street food. The air conditioning in the bedroom was greatly appreciated at the end of a long hot day. We feel the bathroom could have been cleaner, but overall it was a good bargain for the money.

Many thanks folks, it was a pleasure to host you both.
Thanks also for your takeaway that you forgot in the fridge. Delicious meal of fried rice, prawn noodle salad and tom yum goong shared as an introduction to street food with our subsequent guest.
Happy travels and hope you enjoy the rest of your Asian holiday.

Tony was a great host, helped us navigate the city and was kind about our jetlagged baby's cries. The rooms were spacious and the AC was working well. However, the place wasn't exactly clean. The photos make it look squeaky clean but the kitchen, the bathroom and parts of the rooms (not the sheets, thank god) needed a little more love, to say the least.

    Hi Emma
Bit rough with the review. Only time we have ever had a 3 heart review but guess we will just have to leave it with the 22 five heart reviews already on our site (appears to be the odd one out there?)
Regarding cleanliness, the fittings in both rooms were dusted and polished and the floors were swept and mopped the day before your arrival as was the bathroom which was scrubbed with tile cleaner and hosed down.
Can't do much more and difficult to understand what you expect from a homestay in a 50 year old family home.
