We went to see an international cake decoration competition at NEC Birmingham and stayed 4 nights at Yvonne`s place. Yvonne and Kevin, thank you a lot for your nice HOME to stay and for all the help we received from you!
I was there few days but very good, as a friend's home. Yvone is very nice and Kevin is a great chef too.
Near the centre +-20 min by train or 45 by bus, it depends the hour.
I recomend them.
In a word, perfect!
Charming host. Lovely room in a quiet house where I could study whilst on a 5-day training course. Recommended. 5 *****
I only needed accommodation for one night, whilst attending an exhibition at the nec, but Yvonne made me feel very welcome, and offered me a free 'upgrade' to a comfortable room on the ground floor, which saved me the trek up to the smaller loft room, which was the only one available when I booked.
It's a pleasant home in a quiet area, only a short walk from Hamstead station, then onward to New Street station and the nec. New Street is a very central hub, convenient for access to all of Birmingham's myriad attractions (How can you tell I was born in Birmingham?!)
Will definitely stay again - it was an enjoyable, if short, stay and excellent value for money. Recommended!
I stayed with Yvonne for 1.5 months during an internship I was doing in the city centre. The location is quite convenient, a bus can take you to New Street in around 30-35min. The room & facilities were great for the price, esp since breakfast is included. Yvonne is inredibly flexible, didn't mind me changing my mind abouot the length of my stay in the very last min when my plans changed. She hosts tons of students & knows how to handle us - I strongly recommend if you're coming to Birmingham on a student budget and need a place to stay and a host you can trust.
My co-worker and I were in the Yvonne’s home during 3 months for our internship in England. We didn’t want to go in a hotel because we wanted to improve our English by speaking with people: fulfilled mission ! Between the company and Yvonne’s discussions and advices, we have improved it.
In the Yvonne’s home we met different nationality (Japanese, Swiss, Spanish, English…) adults and teenagers and that was very enriching (as she says, “with all these departures and arrivals it’s a crazy house!”). Yvonne makes sure that the community life run smoothly and her spacious house allow each person to have a peaceful place. Its clean and warming. Yvonne is very nice and fun and also a good guide tourist.
Each person who “come in her house is part of her big family”.
A very friendly, chatty person who wants to make you feel welcome. She will bend over backwards to help and goes out of her way to explain the area, busroutes trains etc. Her home is friendly warm and welcoming. Enjoyed my stay and if im in the area again i would be looking to stay again.
All i can say is Yvonne thank you so much.
Yvonne is an enjoyable, welcoming host who takes care of her guests.
She showed me British traditions, tipical meals and help me to improve my english.
Her house is very nice and spacious. the rooms are clean and confortable.
it's a very nice place ! I recommend !!!
