About the Homestay
We moved to our new build home in Oct 2016. Our home is larger than we needed as there is only myself, my son (17) and daughter (8). We bought a larger house to accommodate guest staying over so it's inspired me to take that a little further.
I work Monday to Friday and the children of course have school. We have a happy home, which we look after. The house is kept clean and tidy at all times - Well maybe not so much my sons room (haha), but all other areas.
We live on a bus route which take you into Edinburgh and are only 2 miles from the train line which also runs into Edinburgh (much quicker). Edinburgh is around 8 miles away from Bonnyrigg. The estate we live on is a managed estate which is looked after by factors so it's a pleasant place to live with duck ponds, parks and walks.
My children are well behaved kids, with good manners and both enjoy "talking" and getting to know people.

About the Area
The popular Midlothian town of Bonnyrigg lies within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh. There is a good range of shopping outlets on hand whilst further shopping is available in nearby Dalkeith and Edinburgh’s City Centre is approximately eight miles away. The immediate vicinity lends itself to restful country walks and a sports complex offers a variety of sporting activities and a leisure centre with swimming pool. Schooling is well represented from nursery to senior level, with the Edinburgh College’s Midlothian Campus in Dalkeith. An efficient public transport network is on hand, which operates to most parts of the town and surrounding areas. The property is easily accessible to the new Borders Rail link and is close by to the Eskbank Station.

Louise is just wonderful - she's been very helpful and nice to us. She even came to the bus station to find us. Her house is lovely and we couldn't dream of a better house to stay in for a couple of days in Edinburgh. Thank you Louise!
Clean, cozy, quiet, comfortable house! Highly recommend for students. Everything's perfect in the house and Louise cleans the room for me everyday which is really thankful. Just a little bit far from the city centre. You can take the bus which is located 2 mins away from the house. (^.^)
Our stay at Louise’s was without fault. Louise was exceptionally helpful and we certainly got the impression that nothing was too much hassle. Her home was spotless, cosy and very inviting. We couldn’t have asked for any more and would happily return should another trip to Edinburgh present itself. A 5 star experience.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
