Bright, well decorated cosy double room ( brand new mattress, black-out blind) for 1 or 2 persons, in large comfortable, quiet house with garden. No pets or young children. Local area on good bus route (approx 3m to centre) to shopping city centre and for U.W.E. Supermarkets all in walking distance, as are independent shops, pubs, take-aways, library, gym. I'm happy to help with questions etc and maybe around during evening, happy to make recommendations and share local knowledge.

About the Area
Local area is vibrant and diverse, there are One Coffee, Porto Lounge and Grounded coffee shops, within walking distance. Porto Lounge has good gluten free menu and often has special meal deals.
3 supermarkets within few minutes walk.
Two large Victorian parks also easily accessible which provide lovely riverside/woodland walks, the river Frome runs through both.
Good local amenities along the high st and there is a cycle path which links Bristol and Bath.
The area is like a modern village, the name comes from ponds that were near the railway station and was formerly a quarry district and dates back as far as the 17th Century and was once covered by the Royal Forest of Kingswood.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Guests are welcome to use kitchen to make tea/coffee/light snacks, are expected to wash and put everything away after use. Guests will have access to own kitchen cupboard to store food if necessary. Access to kitchen is at host discretion, there is NO MICROWAVE!
Large shared bathroom with separate shower cubicle and bath, and as it is shared guests are asked not to spend long periods of time using the bathroom.
I am available to help with questions etc when possible and maybe around during evening, happy to make recommendations and share local knowledge.
GUESTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE OUT OF THE HOUSE DURING MY CORE WORKING HOURS (9-5pm), WHEN I AM WORKING AT HOME, CHECK WITH ME WHAT DAYS THIS WILL BE PRIOR TO BOOKING.

I stayed at Shannon's home for two nights, she was warm welcoming and always up for a good chat. Her home is beautiful and well kept so you'll feel like you're in a 5 start hotel. Shannon is probably one of the sweetest and most genuine people I've met on homestay hands down. She even offered advise on renting property in Bristol which proved very useful to me. I highly recommend this homestay not just as a place to lay your head but as a place to meet a new friend.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
