About the Homestay
Peaceful, comfortable family house, perfect for exploring the city and beyond.
We live in a quiet cul-de-sac in Montpelier, central Bristol. Our house has a warm, comfortable, homely feel. We have a spacious kitchen/dining room with doors that open on to the garden, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our guest bedroom is a good-sized double room and also overlooks the garden.
There are three of us living here: myself and two older teenagers, together with our lovely, little dog. We are all friendly, relaxed, easy-going and enjoy having guests (especially the dog!).
We have been hosting overseas students for years, so are accustomed to welcoming guests and making them feel at home. We all love Bristol - it's a great city! So we're always very happy to chat about things to see and do here.
Parking in our street is currently free and there are generally spaces available.

About the Area
Behind our house is Narroways Nature Reserve and St Werburgh's City Farm; in the other direction, Cabot Circus, Bristol's major shopping centre, can be reached on foot in less than 20 minutes. Just beyond Cabot Circus is the heart of Bristol and the harbour. We are close to two bus routes that go into the town centre, and to Montpelier train station which connects to Bristol Temple Meads and trains to Bath, London, Cardiff, etc.
As well as being close to the city centre, we are also a short walk from Gloucester Road and Stokes Croft, a popular and vibrant area with some great independent cafes, bars and shops. For those with access to a car, you can be on the motorway that leads out of Bristol in a couple of minutes, within easy reach of Wales, the Cotswolds and the West Country.

Our stay with Rachael was a lovely stay she made us welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her we will defiantly stay again if we ever go to Bristol thank you so much Rachael Marlene and Louise
Our stay at Rachel's was fantastic. Her house is so warming and homey and all of them (including the dog) made us feel so welcome and comfortable to the point where we did not want to leave. It was great spending time with them and we would go back anytime. The room is spacious and light and the house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to Gloucester Road and the city centre. I highly recommend staying with Rachel. It was just the perfect homestay experience!
Rachel helped make my first experience in Bristol a great one. She was so accommodating and helpful with everything. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to relax and have a good night sleep.
Very nice people , and nice room
It was a beautiful stay! Rachel was very friendly and sensitive, and more than available to give advice and tips about the city. The house atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful with a lovely sociable dog! Walking distance from the city centre, perfect house for people looking for a new beggining in Bristol or for a good alternative to a B&B.
I couldn't have asked for a nicer, more welcoming home and family to stay with during my first weeks in Bristol. The guest room was spotless, and the whole house was warm and inviting. Rachel was always friendly and helpful, and I was made to feel relaxed from the first evening. I was given space if I wanted it, but was actually very happy to join the family for good evening meals and excellent conversation.
The two girls were very friendly and fun, and the whippet puppy was adorable. I loved spending time with everyone.
I wholeheartedly recommend this home stay, and feel that I have made some excellent new friends in Rachel and her family. A rating of 5/5 isn't high enough!
Great location very friendly host ! Has a great time ...
It was wonderful meeting Rachel. She is polite, friendly and very good host. She gave me a lot of indication for visiting Bristol and places around.
Her house is lovely and I feel very good staying there. It is near the center so it was easy to visit it.
So, thank you Rachel, I have a wonderful vacation.
This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
Easy, hassle-free, lovely family. Great advice on things to see and do in the wonderful city of Bristol. Thank you for letting us stay.
