We live in a modern detached house on the outskirts of Dunfermline, a town in East Fife. We are a 32-minute train ride from Edinburgh and the train station is walking distance from my house. The nearest beautiful beach is 12 minutes by car. We have four bedrooms, three of which we let to guests. Please don't ask if I can accommodate three people in one room because I can't. The rooms are not big enough. We have two very friendly dogs but don't worry -if you're not a dog lover they will stay out of your way. Sorry, we can't accommodate other people's pets.
Limited laundry facilities available and only on sunny or windy days as your clothes would be partially dryed outside. £5 per load. Only for guests staying three days or more.
There is a shared bathroom which has a shower over the bath. If there is nobody in the other rooms you will have your own bathroom.
Normally the full balance must be paid no later than four days before arrival. (unless it is a last minute booking!) I will send you a private message for a secure way of doing this. Thank you.
Please note shoes should not be worn upstairs. We leave our shoes downstairs when we come in so please bring slippers or bedroom socks or I can lend you bedroom socks.

About the Area
We are about 30 mins from Edinburgh airport by car. My house has very easy access to the motorway to Perth/Dundee and to Edinburgh. There are buses nearby to go into town or you can walk to the train station in under 15 mins to get a train into Edinburgh. The train takes about 32 mins.

House Rules
Please take off shoes at bottom of the stairs as we like to keep the carpets clean.No noise after 11 pm please so come in quietly if you're out late. No smoking in the house or in the street in front of the house. There is a bench and ashtray at the front for guests but I prefer non-smokers to be honest. No use of kitchen but there is a microwave for guests use in the dining room.
Smoking is not allowed.

Debbie was nothing but adorable! The house is cosy, the garden view from the bedroom is the cutest thing! I had problems getting the wrong train late at night, got strained in Perth, she picked me up, can't never thank her enough! And the chats, oooh she makes us feel at home from day 1!

Debbie is very hospitable and caring - it was a pleasure staying in her home. The room (and house) was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The house is in a good location, close to the railway station and Duloch Park / Calais Muir Wood.

Debbie was very helpful to explain where good food is near her home, how there are two close bus stops which make it very easy to hop on to go exploring, and she was amazing to make a little stone path that cuts through the hedges to the street so you don't have to walk all the way around to catch the bus, you can just cut right out her front door. She was kind to pick me up that first night from the busy bus stop a few miles away, and had the room fixed up so cute with water boiler, teas, coffees, etc. I fell right to sleep in that room and she fixed a delicious breakfast of my choosing. Her son is very sweet and smart and her dogs are very cute and you can go with her to the dog walk to get your dog fix. I recommend her stay for many reasons, close to town's sightseeing desires, close to bus stops, easy walking a mile or so if you choose walking to a few eateries, businesses, and on a quiet street to relax.

We stayed with her family. Upset with us for parking our vehicle and trailer on our last night (having stayed with her for 9 nights).

The two young men who stayed with me for 9 nights were very good guests. Very quiet and respectful of my home, clean and tidy and polite. The comment about the trailer (above) is because the street I live on is very narrow and for some reason they parked a massive trailer there, blocking the road for several hours to large delivery vans. I was only a little upset, very short-lived, because I have to be sensitive to my neighbours needs and the double width driveway was available to them for the whole stay.

Even though I made a last minute request to stay Debbie quickly accepted.
I had a great night sleep in a lovely twin room. Very clean and well equipped room with wifi, tv and tea and coffee.

My stay with Debbie was absolutely fantastic! Her generosity and kind-heart nature would welcome anyone who would stay with her. I could say that it was God's divine provision as I meet her in December 2011 at her church and only realised that it was her after few minutes of chatting upon my arrival! Would definitely recommend to stay with her!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
