About the Homestay
We live in a semi-detached 3 bedroom house with private off street parking for Guests. I have a small, well behaved Bichon Frise named Boo. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and the Conservatory at any time.
We have excellent wifi, Netflix and NowTV.
Boswall/Trinity is surrounded by 3 areas within 2 and a half miles; Newhaven, Inverleith and Stockbridge (please google) There are 3 bus stops within a 4 minute walk of the house, the City centre is just 15 minutes by bus, the buses are numbers, 8, 14, 19, 21 and 27 - https://lothianbuses.co.uk - There is small local supermarkets and a Post office just a few minutes walk from the house and a large supermarket 10 mins away. There is a lovely restaurant wine bar 10 minutes walk from here as well as a Chinese, Indian and Pizza eatery.
Edinburgh's famous Botanic Gardens are a short walk away and next to the lovely Inverleith Park with its pretty pond and open areas to picnic/walk and amazing views over to the City Centre. Newhaven Harbour is an old fishing village with many little bars and restaurants around, a beautiful walk by the Firth of Forth River and just 20 minutes away. If you continue East along the River, this will take you to Leith, the old Port of Leith/Edinburgh and again; many bars, restaurants and Live music.

We ask our guests to give at least 7 days notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation after this will not be refunded.

Always wash up, dry and put your dishes away after cooking and eating.
Do not put anything down the toilet other than the small amount of toilet paper necessary.

Yvonne is absolutely wonderful and our stay was perfect. There was breakfast every day set out for us and she even helped by driving us into town. We really did feel at home.
Yvonne is very helpful and kind person, we had great conversations. Other advantages are that the area is quiet and the see is in walking distance.

My first experience using Homestay and staying with Yvonne was exceptional. I was made very welcome. Yvonne is a great host, she is well informed and great company. In a quiet and friendly neighbourhood it was a perfect choice for the weekend.
After a day at the seminar I ventured out for dinner to a restaurant which had been recommend to me, very much looking forward to eating and taking food from the restaurant for the following day. I managed to throw the beetroot that was going to be tomorrows lunch all down my new white jeans, returning home (via bus as I was too embarrassed to walk) Yvonne very kindly took the matter in hand and washed my jeans! On Sunday, she insisted upon collecting me from my conference and presenting me with my freshly laundered jeans very kindly drove me to the train station for my return journey home. Thank you, you are a absolute star!

We stayed with Yvonne over New Year's Eve to celebrate Hogmanay in Edinburgh. It was the best homestay you could imagine. Yvonne is such a lovely host and made us feel like home every minute.
The room is very nice and clean and so is the bathroom. Her dog Boo is very cute and well-behaved. You can reach both public transport and the sea within a few minutes walk and the house is situated in a quiet area.
We would definitely recommend this homestay to everyone.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
