Tim and Sally Hudson live in Shincliffe, Durham City, in County Durham. Their home is just 2 miles from the medieval city centre of Durham with its world famous Cathedral, Castle and University. Before moving to Durham in 2016, Tim and Sally lived and worked in London.
Tim & Sally have hosted foreign language students from almost all over the world; and have fond memories of this experience and many students still keep in touch. They have a lovely comfortable home and a warm welcoming manner.

About the Area
Our house is located on the south side of the city. It is safe, family friendly with beautiful riverside walks. We have 3 wonderful pubs that serve great food, and a super cute coffee shop. We are 3 km from the city centre and only 20 miles from the airport. The closest bus stop is only 3 minutes walk away from the house and there bus options nearby.

Cancellation Policy:
Short stays: (Less than 28 days stay)
We ask our guests to give us at least 14 days’ notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded.”
Long term stay:
Full refund up to 30 days before check-in. After that 1st 30 days of stay is non refundable.

I stayed with Sally and Tim for 32 days, and they were extremely friendly hosts who were always ready to help. I would highly recommend this accommodation, as the welcome was very warm and their availability remarkable.

I've stayed for longer than a month (and it was my 2nd visit). The quality of the bedrooms and the guest kitchen is top-notch. But more than that, the incredibly fresh air from the surrounding nature promotes good sleep!

I stayed three months in which Sally and Tim were very hospital and kind; they were like my parents. Also, the house is clean and quiet. Apart from this, the place is really nice and it is near the University where I was working; I went there everyday by walking. In conclusion, I totally recommend this place. In fact, if I had to go back, I would actually choose their house.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
