Luis and I are expats (Spain and California) living in and loving Scotland. We have a dog, Luca, who is impeccably trained and a sweet boy. I love to cook, and we enjoy being social but equally letting guests do their own thing. We have been almost everywhere in Scotland, so ask us questions to help make your trip the best it can be!
Our house is quirky and comfortable, and there is the large master bedroom that feels like you are in a forest, and a second bedroom that has a calming and romantic feel to it. We have recently renovated the flat, adding underfloor heating throughout, and as this is our home we care for it with love.
We have live plants and a few fish, lots of wood and leather, and with trees out every window it feels like an inviting and natural environment.
We work weekdays so check-in is after 5pm and checkout is by 11am. Special arrangements can be made in advance by request. Payment can be made by paypal, bank transfer, or in cash.

About the Area
We are bordered on one side by the Water of Leith, and the other side by the Pentland hills. We have a very large garden with tables and benches, and birds and owls galore. It is quiet (besides the birds) and natural.
Crossing via our footbridge you are in Juniper Green with pubs, cafes, and a bus that takes 20 minutes to get into town. There are small grocery shops in both directions via a 15 minute walk.

House Rules
Pets are allowed as long as they are dog friendly, and please clean up after them inside and outside.
We have quiet hours from 9pm, as we have older resident neighbors.
There are no events allowed.

Candace and Luis were perfect hosts. We felt like we were staying at a friends' place. We loved sharing dinner with them, and enjoyed the long conversations, the big puppy and the music of course. We really hope to come and see them again!

Candace und Luis sind sympathische, kreative Menschen und sehr angenehme Gastgeber, mit denen wir sehr nette Abende verbracht haben. Sie haben einen verspielten, aber gut erzogenen Hund, mit dem man als Gast auf jeden Fall in Kontakt kommt - hundescheu sollte man daher nicht sein. Das von uns gemietete Zimmer war sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet und das ganze Haus liegt mitten in der Natur an den Waters of Leith. Die Fahrt nach Edinburgh dauerte im Durchschnitt eine halbe Stunde, da der Bus manchmal auf sich warten ließ. Dafür ist das Haus mit Auto oder Taxi in nur 15 Minuten erreichbar - definitiv ein Bonus. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
