My husband, Norman and I are retired schoolteachers and live in a large Victorian house in Liverpool. We surround ourselves with interesting treasures so if you are expecting a minimalist environment you are in for a surprise!
This is an old house, built in 1874 and we work hard to make sure that the environment is safe and attractive and in keeping with Victorian era.
We are approachable and understanding and any observations or comments you make to us about our home will be treated with respect.
We are a short bus ride away from the city centre and near to other districts such as Fairfield, Kensington, Tuebrook, Old Swan and West Derby.
We offer a comfortable family home and the opportunity to experience English culture whilst supporting you in the use of the English language.
We can offer a long stay experience for students at college or university and a shorter experience for those visiting Liverpool for holiday or language school.
We have three letting bedrooms: a family bedroom for up to three people, a double bedroom for up to two people and a single bedroom. The family bathroom has a large walk-in shower cubicle. The bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the second floor.
Your homestay package cost includes a light "Good to Go" breakfast available in your room for each guest in the room for each morning of your stay.
You can order a packed lunch for £5 and two course family evening meal on a flexible basis for an additional charge of £10. Please confirm mornings.
Meals are nutritious and home cooked from fresh each day and most diets are catered for.
Laundry facilities available and each room has Wi-Fi connection and a flat screen TV on the wall.
Please note below costs for extra meals are out of date. Prices have been raised (see above) and I can't find how to edit this last bit of the text.

We encourage use of spoken English in the home.
Delicious home cooked food is served at mealtimes and home baking is often available.

About the Area
Our house is close to direct bus routes into city centre, John Lennon airport, Liverpool Football Club. Buses are regular and you can buy a weekly/monthly ticket. Delta taxis offer an efficient affordable service with home to city centre costing around £5.
There is a small Tesco supermarket nearby for snacks, drinks and newspapers.
WIthin a short walking distance is a sports centre and swimming pool, a tennis club and several pubs and restaurants.

There were some very warm and homely touches when staying with Lyndsay. I noticed it was extremely quiet at night, something I appreciate. Good conversation with L in the dining room too. All adds up to making a welcoming and homely stay when having to rush around Liverpool.

I stayed with my husband and my two kids with Lyndsay and Norman and we felt very comfortable. It was like being at home. The rooms were very well equiped with everything you may need: fridge, hair dryer, big tv, hangers for the clothes... The bathroom is new with a great new shower. But the best of all was the treat that we received from Lyndsay and Norman. They were always very kind with us and available for a chat and they were very patient with the kids. Lyndsay is a great cooker, and she prepared us nice cakes. A great home in Liverpool.

Thank you for this great review. You are right ..it felt just like family....and what a lovely family you are. We did enjoy your company and the children were beautiful and well behaved. We still laugh at their well developed lemon yoghurt sensors!!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
