About the Homestay
My husband, Norman and I are retired schoolteachers and live in a large Victorian house in Liverpool. We surround ourselves with interesting treasures so if you are expecting a minimalist environment you are in for a surprise!
This is an old house, built in 1874 and we work hard to make sure that the environment is safe and attractive and in keeping with Victorian era.
We are approachable and understanding and any observations or comments you make to us about our home will be treated with respect.
We are a short bus ride away from the city centre and near to other districts such as Fairfield, Kensington, Tuebrook, Old Swan and West Derby.
We offer a comfortable family home and the opportunity to experience English culture whilst supporting you in the use of the English language.
We can offer a long stay experience for students at college or university and a shorter experience for those visiting Liverpool for holiday or language school.
We have three letting bedrooms: a family bedroom for up to three people, a double bedroom for up to two people and a single bedroom. The family bathroom has a large walk-in shower cubicle. The bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the second floor.

Meals are nutritious and home cooked from fresh each day and most diets are catered for.

It has been two fabulous weeks with you two Lyndsay and Norman!!! There is no doubt I'll repeat again!!! Thank you so much!!!
I had a really lovely time at Lyndsays and her husbands place.
I would recommend staying there whole heartily! Lovely room and perfect connection to the city centre. Thank you two for the pleasant time.
It was very easy to communicate; friendly, welcoming people. Room was very clean and tidy. I recommend :)
There were some very warm and homely touches when staying with Lyndsay. I noticed it was extremely quiet at night, something I appreciate. Good conversation with L in the dining room too. All adds up to making a welcoming and homely stay when having to rush around Liverpool.
One word. Lovely.
A lovely house, a lovely person (both), a lovely city... it was an awesome experience to me. Norman & Lyndsay were perfect with me, very nice, they learnt a lot of things. So thank you so much.
I stayed with my husband and my two kids with Lyndsay and Norman and we felt very comfortable. It was like being at home. The rooms were very well equiped with everything you may need: fridge, hair dryer, big tv, hangers for the clothes... The bathroom is new with a great new shower. But the best of all was the treat that we received from Lyndsay and Norman. They were always very kind with us and available for a chat and they were very patient with the kids. Lyndsay is a great cooker, and she prepared us nice cakes. A great home in Liverpool.
Lyndsay et Norman sont des personnes extraordinaires, d'une gentillesse et d'une serviabilité qui n'existent que très peu de nos jours. Si il y a un endroit où dormir à Liverpool c'est chez eux. So british !
I have spent twelve days in Liverpool with my eleven-year-old son at Lyndsay's house. Our bedroom was at the last floor in their large three storey-house, it was spacious and well equipped (TV, iron, hair dryer, shared fridge in front of the bedroom…). The bathroom was recently renovated and the shower tray was enormous. The house was near the bus stop where we have taken the bus every day to go to the city centre in barely a quarter of an hour.
Lyndsay and Norman are caring, intelligent and helpful people with a special sensitivity towards their many objects, books and vinyl records.
My son and I enjoyed our stay very much, we both felt completely at home from the first day. We have eaten an abundant breakfast every morning in their large table while we looked at the garden and we have also shared with them several special meals.
In my opinion, people must grow up personally with their own life experiences and our stay in their home has contributed to our personal growth.
Thanks to Norman for sharing his knowledge with us and to Lyndsay for her attentions.
They are now part of our lifes and memories and I sure we will visit them again in the near future.
This guest awarded the host 3 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
