Hello and thanks for checking out our room. I work mainly in property management and development. Philip is in retail management. I will be around to help or advice you about your visit to Liverpool.

We love to travel around the world mostly to warm countries. I love to read and watch movies.

As our guest, you will enjoy our lovely Victorian home situated just opposite Newsham park. You will enjoy the unique original structure of this old British design without any doubt.

Our motto in life is to treat others the way we wish to be treated, no need to be rude, no need to be judgemental, no need to be disrespectful, be upfront and honest, therefore, when we use the services of other Airbnb hosts, we always treat their houses as if it was our home and the people as human beings. We expect the same from all our guests.

*** My guest's rooms have stairs which some people might find difficult to manage.***

We hope to welcome you soon.

About the Area

Lovely huge park just in front of the house. This is a very quiet and safe neighbourhood, with limited parking space in front of the house. If you are visiting as a group, please limit the number of cars to just a couple. Also, you might have to park a couple of streets away sometimes. Parking is free. Guest parking area is on the pavement on the side of the Park. Do not park in front of neighbours houses. It is very important that all guests respect the neighborhood and do not make noise at any point in time, especially at night.

Getting around is very simple. You can either walk to the city centre (20 mins) , take the bus which is a few meters from the house or catch a taxi which will cost around £5. You can also catch buses 8,9,10 near the house to the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants in the city centre, however, if you wish to avoid the busy crowded area, the house is not far to the famous Lark Lane where you can find restaurants in a quiet setting. The famous Sefton park is also next to Lark Lane. Both locations are just a bus ride away.

Homestay Host Family Taiwo And Philip in ,

I was expecting a bad review because of the incident of the final day at my home. You indeed called us 10 days before your arrival and you told us you would arrive around 10pm. I was indeed in bed at 12.30am when you arrived but you were still let in. You did not call to inform us of your late arrival. So I am not sure what is your complaint here.
Regarding breakfast, I asked you what you wanted to eat in the morning. I gave a choice of 4 different cereals and toast, you said you did not want breakfast because you wanted to lie in in the morning, I answered that I would leave some cereals out anyway and you can eat when you wake up. Your husband came down and had cereal; which he did again the following day. To name Lidl brand in your review shows how obnoxious you are. Food is food and you did not need to eat if the brand bothered you. After the first day I asked if you were alright and you were very enthusiastic and you said yes. We spoke for a while about the show you came to see and you explained that one of the actors were your nephews. I explained how to get around because of your disabilities.
Regarding the door, none of our guest doors have locks and it is indicated in our description. Again, I do not see what is your issue. On the last day, this guest did not check out at 10am according to our rule. At 10.30am I knocked on the door to check what was going on, she came out in her pyjamas still enjoying my home. I told her that the checkout time was 10am but she looked surprised. My rule book and checkout procedure was clearly on the table. She cannot deny not seeing it. She asked if they could stay till 2pm, meaning 4 hours after the agreed checkout. I told her that I had other plans and I could not agree to that. She kept begging and I finally agreed to 12pm which was 2 hours after the agreed time and 1 hour before the arrival of my next guest. When they left, none of them said goodbye, they did not even speak a word to let me know they were leaving. On another note, they did not communicate their disabilities to me when they booked, I wished they had because I would have recommended them to go for a hotel instead of burdening a guest and making us feel uncomfortable. We are not nurses or carers. This review is based solely on the fact that they did not get their way this time. We have firm rules in our house and we expect all our guests to respect them.

Taiwo made us very welcome. The house (and the park opposite) is lovely, with plenty of safe on street parking. Everything very neat and clean. Basic furnishings in room, but warm and comfy, good value for the price. Rules in place to keep things nice, like shoes off on entry, so take your slippers, and no food / drink in rooms, which is understandable, and we were able to use the dining room for a snack when we arrived as well as the breakfast Taiwo provided. Shared bathroom, but right next door to our room, and very stylish and spacious as well as very clean.
Took a bit of finding as we don't use Satnav, but the A-Z got us there after a couple of wrong turns. Great location for us as we were going to The Olympia for a concert. We planned to use the bus, but it was raining, so Taiwo phoned for a taxi, which only cost £3! If it had been better weather we'd have had a walk round the park. Would definitely go again when visiting Liverpool.

When asked for a slightly earlier check in due to business arrangements I was told no. The room was clean but had no TV or mirror and was quite cold with no extra blankets. The details stated wifi however there was none due to no signal in the house. The check out time was before 10am which I felt was extremely early. No drinks or snacks were allowed in the room and I needed this for health reasons. The dos and don'ts came across as quite abrupt and patronising in the information sheets. It stated we were not allowed to have a bath and had to be quick when using the bathroom. I feared for the safety of my car as when pulling up to the property there was police patrolling the area and youths setting fireworks off. Overall you get what you pay for but the advert is misleading

Alana, your review is very inaccurate. You asked twice via email for an early check in and twice I responded that I too had previous business engagements I could not get away from. This is the reason why I plan my days according to my listed check in time of 1pm onward. I only have the morning to do my own business and errands. If I could, I would have checked you in earlier. When your boyfriend checked in, I explained everything to him about how to get wifi in the room, about other guests we had in the house who shared the same bathroom and about the use and access to the dining room for food and extra drinks. Hot drinks tea and coffee were available in your room and dining room. You had a private kettle so I am not sure how you were unable to eat or drink. Breakfast was available in the dining room. It was all explained to your boyfriend, he obviously did not relate you the conversation. TV was not advertised, so I wonder why you expected to have one. I told your boyfriend that if you needed anything, all you had to do was ask. So if you needed extra blanket, besides the winter duvet that was already available, why did you not ask? Again, our check out time was advertised, you saw it before booking my room, why did you think it was ok to change that just for you? Our house is right opposite a park, it was a dry hot day and children were playing in the park. How was that an issue and a threat to your safety? Did something happen to your car or all the other cars parked in front of the houses? It is normal for the police to patrol neighbourhoods, there was absolutely nothing to fear. I guess you should have communicated with us instead of assuming things. I spent over 15 minutes talking with your boyfriend when he checked in and he was more than informed about the house. It is obvious the communication was not passed on to you or you simply were not happy because you did not get your way in the first place. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay, neither did we.

Accueil sympa, chambre correcte, petit déjeuné convenable.
