About the Homestay
We're a sociable, friendly couple with a lovely 5 bedroom Edwardian house in the north London suburb of Bounds Green. Our house is in a peaceful street just a few minutes walk from Bounds Green (Piccadilly Line) and Bowes Park (overground) stations. Trains from either station will take you directly to central London in around 30 minutes. The local area has a range of useful shops, lovely parks and some great restaurants and pubs.
I'm an English teacher with many years experience of teaching adults from beginner to advanced level and my husband is an IT professional and a keen table tennis player. I sing in our community choir and enjoy socialising with local friends. We enjoy cooking and eating out, travel, music and movies. As well as our first language, English, I speak French (and a little Spanish and German).
Our daughters are grown up and have moved out, so we can offer 2 quiet, airy, comfortable double rooms, 1 with en-suite bathroom. Each room has a TV with access to Netflix and Amazon movies and the loft room also has a sofa. The en-suite loft bedroom can be arranged to accommodate a family and we can provide good quality inflatable beds in addition to the double (see pictures) for a small extra charge. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen (with microwave, washing machine and drier), the family bathroom, the additional downstairs toilet and the garden.
Each room has a comfortable double bed, a wardrobe and plenty of drawer space for you to use. The en-suite room has a private bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin. Rooms include bed linen, towels, WiFi and essential toiletries, so we hope you can travel light!
Please note that the en-suite room is on the top floor of our 3-storey house and you will need to climb 29 steps to reach it. The double room is on the middle floor, and there are 16 steps up from the ground floor.

Famille adorable, maison charmante, petits-dejeuners complets, bonne situation géographique... en bref, c'était parfait. Merci Alison pour ton hospitalité. Nous recommandons ++++
The Scoops were great hosts and the accommodations were very clean and roomy. The Bounds Green Piccadilly Line station is just a short walk away and around the station are services like a chemist, hair salon, cafe, post office and food stores. Everything was very convenient.
This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
My stay at Alison's house was lovely. She is very kind and friendly, the room is big, comfy and has every comfort. It has also a huge TV with Netflix. I think is one of the best rooms you can find for this price. The position is very very good, it's litteraly 2 min from bounds Green station. Highly recommended. 5 stars! I would for sure come back here to visit London.
We liked our stay very much, both the accomodation and the friendly atmosphere. The loft room has enough space even for additional air bed and the bathroom is also rather large. The light breakfast was also fine, a lot of fruit and very tasty home-made british cakes. We surely can recommend this accomodation.
Super accueil d Alison !!! Maison charmante. Alison est toujours à l écoute et aux petits soins our ses hôtes !!! Je recommande !!!
Wonderful experience. Big, clean room with comfy bed and bay window. Alison and Dan are generous with their breakfasts and their time. Fresh berries from the garden. Helped us figure out how to go to our next destination at a very early time in the morning. Really opened their hearts and home to us in a very loving, generous way. I can't say enough about them. ~ Joan & Kara Beigh

After having arrived home, we would like to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. We have brought back rich and everlasting moments. You were great hostesses and without your advice and attention to details, we would not have enjoyed ourselves nearly so much. We deeply appreciate your thoughtful gestures and truly hope that the opportunity of reciprocating your hospitality comes our way.
We have spent a fantastic holiday and we shall forever cherish these moments.
Again, thank you so much for this fantastic holidays and for your support. It felt like being home. Please take care and we are very much looking forward to seeing you soon again.
