About the Homestay
This beautiful room is situated in front of Myatts Fields park - south of the River - Zone 2 and 20 minutes bus journey to Westminster. George and I are offering bed and 'self service' breakfast.
Our spare double room accommodates a single person or a couple, is within our cared for quiet Victorian home. The room is upstairs and overlooks the garden. It includes a double bed 135 cm / 4ft6' wide, cupboard with shelves, hair dryer and use of a shared bathroom (with us only), which has both a shower and a bath.
Even though the house is large enough to accommodate more people we have chosen to only have a single guest (or a couple) at a time. Expect to have an uncompromising & really quite time as a result!
We are conveniently located for Central London & the West End. Street parking is easy since we’re within a Controlled Parking Zone but comes at the cost of £6.00/per calendar day paid here. If you intend to travel by car let us know beforehand to make sure we have the right number of parking vouchers
Breakfast includes: Cereals, milk, fruit juice, toast, bread, cheese, butter, jam/honey, filter coffee/tea and fruit of the day! You'll have wireless internet. However, there's no TV. Kettle in bedroom with a selection of teas and freeze dried coffee etc.
We have a piano and a small garden you are welcome to use.
The beautiful, award winning Myatts Fields Park is right opposite; for free, you can play tennis, football, basketball and enjoy the small cafe by the band stand. Basic shopping amenities for the local community are nearby. Local restaurants/pubs nearby as well
This house was built in the Victorian era and still has many original features. If you are looking for modern and all the mod cons, this is not the place.
For those of you coming by air, once we know the airport of your choice we're happy to send information for the quickest way to find us. English, French and Greek is fluently spoken.
Buses: Only 7 min walk to bus stops on Camberwell New Road. All buses have direct routes to Victoria Station & the West End / Bus no: 185, 36 / Or 5 min walk to Brixton Road buses for Piccadilly & Oxford Circus, Trafalgar Square, Waterloo, Kings Cross St Pancras, London Bridge & Liverpool Street (No: 3, 59, 133, 159)
Tube stations: Oval and Stockwell are the nearest tube stations. The Northern line (black) and Victoria line (light blue) make travelling very quick around London to all destinations.
PAYMENT FOR YOUR STAY
Upon receipt of Homestay's booking confirmation we ask our guests to pay a 35% to 50% deposit (an amount depending on the total booking fee but not to exceed £100.00) into our bank account up front whilst the outstanding will be settled in cash upon arrival
As an example for 5 days stay our total fee will be £60.00 x 4 = £240.00 and we will ask for £240.00 x 38% = £90.00 (deposit) up front and you will settle the remaining balance of £150.00 in cash on arrival
Our bank account details will be forwarded upon confirmed booking
Cancellation policy: We ask our guests to give us a minimum of 7 days notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded

About the Area
A quiet, leafy residential area with nearby buzzing activities (e.g. bars, restaurants etc only 5-10 minute walk away) but most fortunately not next to the house so you get the best of both worlds
We are located 3 miles walking distance from Trafalgar Square (city centre) and several bus connections are just 5 minutes walk from here

We offer this accommodation to people who come to our city for the purpose of visiting, are sensitive enough to understand their allocated space is part of our family home and that Caroline & I are both working and are not professional hoteliers
Anyone who'd like to use our room as a “love nest” for example (e.g. to stay in all the time to only come out just for the bare necessities) or have breakfast at noon, or anything of that ilk, we would recommend several fine hotels in our area but our house is not one of them.
Breakfast is between 8 - 10 am. We can provide in our kitchen a space in the fridge for some drinks but no cooking. You are welcome to use the washing machine if you are staying with us for longer than 7 days.

We would require a copy of your passport or photo ID on arrival please and no check-in before 09.30 or after 23.00 unless in emergencies
Generally check in is after 15:00 and check out 11:00; other times by arrangement depending on our work commitments
No smoking & no pets (You may smoke in the garden if you feel too desperate and I will pretend not to notice!)
Smoking is not allowed.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
