Superb house in the historic rural village of Sheriff Hutton, North Yorkshire (half way between York & Malton).
5 miles from Castle Howard Stately Home;
10 miles from the market towns of Easingwold & Malton;
City of York with its’ many attractions is just 30 minutes drive away by car (10 miles).
Ample private off-street parking on the driveway at front of the property. Delightful rear garden.
Secure storage for bicycles or motorbikes in garage.
Shared use of the dining area of our kitchen. You will find everything you need to make hot drinks or prepare light snacks and you can use the fridge to store your own food. You're welcome to use the kettle, toaster and microwave, anything else please just ask.
In the morning you will find the dining table set for a light breakfast of fruit juice, cereals and/or bread for toast (with butter and jams) available for you to help yourself.

We are served by a rural bus service: 180/181 (day-time, Monday-Saturday only) - personal transport needed to get the most out of your stay.
Local walks, including self-guided village stroll to explore the 14th century castle ruins and the parish church which contains a wealth of historical interest.

About the Area
Our home is located near Castle Howard, Stately Home, just outside the Howardian Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
We are 10 miles from both Malton and the city of York.
Large detached home in a historic rural village of Sheriff Hutton in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire. The village is still dominated by the ruins of the late fourteenth century castle.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
