About the Area
Our house is located on the north side of the city in a quiet safe village. We are 3km from the WONDERFUL YORK CITY and only a 45 min drive from Leeds Bradford airport. The bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the house and there is lots of bus options using this stop. There is plenty of walks and cycle rides from the house and Beningbrough Hall is a short distance away. This is an idea location for visiting the fabulous county of Yorkshire.

House Rules
Check-in is after 4.00pm but if you arrive earlier luggage can be left at the house as long as we know to expect you. On the day of departure Check out is 10.00am.
Mobile phone contact must be made before arriving at the house to make sure we are at home
IF YOU ARRIVAL IS CONNECTED TO A FLIGHT ALTERNATIVE TIMES CAN BE ARRANGED.
You will have a key, please look after it and keep our home secure £10 fully returnable deposit will be taken when collecting the key.
We can provide a light breakfast which you can take when you please at a small charge. We ask you tidy and wash up after yourself.
Keeping the bathroom clean and tidy. Please keep shower time to a minimum so as to maintain hot water flow for other users. meals including pack lunches can be provided at an extra cost often available with no prior warning.
Strictly, No laundry to be undertaken in the bathroom. Laundry required by long-stay guests can be carried out by hosts for £10 per week.
Please do not invite strangers if you would like to invite a friend over just agree it with us in advance. but not overnight unless previously arranged.
Please Keep noise to a reasonable level.
Please enjoy your stay and treat our house as you would your own home!
Turn lights off and unplug apiances when not in use please.
If you need anything, please ask. Extra bedding, towels, hairdryer etc can be made available. on request
Payment method: Please note that we require 50% of the booking total to us in advance of the booking to hold your room (on top of the 15% deposit which is paid to Homestay.com) 20% is non refundable.
Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 7 days' notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not receive any refunded.

Had a warm living experience here with the host family, Mary could prepare very delicious food, and organised some helpful baking and felting workshops for guests.

5 Stars all the way! It was an absolute joy to stay with Mary and her wonderful family. They treated me like I was one of the family and made me feel safe and right at home from the moment I arrived. Really I could not have asked for a better "away from home" experience. I would highly recommend to anyone who has the chance to go and see the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside to stay with Mary and her family in their adorable and quirky cottage while you are visiting this fabulous part of England. I am already planning my next trip!

Mary was a very good and helpfull hostess and the property is only about 15 minutes drive into the centre of York making it an ideal base for sightseeing.

The host Mary is a pleasant and hospitable person, offering accommodation in a separate building in the garden of the main house, and in a quiet village as an miles of so from centre of York.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
