First time in Berkeley. Loved Sage's colourful home. House filled with art. Home away from home. Best place I've stayed. Will be going back. Thank you Sage !

This has definitely been the best homestay experience. Thank you Sage for making us feel at home. The place is at a great location from UCB and would strongly recommend it.

I rented from Sage this January when my dad visited from Italy and I just didn't have enough place in my tiny house for him and his partner to be comfortable... As to what I have experienced from meeting her, and as to what my father has told me, Sage is the best host ever! her colorful house made my dad feel right at home: the house is close to UC campus (5min by car), to downtown (5min by car), and walking distance to wonderful grocery stores (like Whole Foods and Berkeley Bowl) and it's clean and roomy. It's also walking distance to Ashby Bart. The bed is very comfortable and the room has a walk-in closet for storage and has plenty of beddings and towels. The owner is very tidy and clean and requires her host to be likewise (as I think is right). She is very knowledgeable about San Francisco, Berkeley and the Bay Area and loves to help with any tourist's question: she's a passionate traveler herself and has the soul of the traveler. She loves meeting people. I would strongly recommend to stay at her place!

Homestay Host Family Sage in ,

Thanks so much Irene. I enjoyed knowing your family. Please stop by with or without the kids.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
