Lynda was a great host, friendly and very helpful at all times, providing us with everything needed for a good breakfast. Only disadvantage of the room was the room divider made of wooden planks to the guestroom next to us. Every word and especially the snoring was being heard clearly.

Lynda bietet eine preisgünstige Unterkunft in Boston. Ihr Haus liegt in einem ruhigen Vorort von Boston und ist gut erreichbar. Vielen Dank für die gute Übernachtungsmöglichkeit!

Lynda was a wonderful host. Lynda provided a good variety of breakfasts each day and ensured that we were comfortable during our stay. The neighbourhood is nice and peaceful with shops and restaurants nearby. The bus stop to take you to the trains for Boston Downtown area was only a short walk away (5-10 minutes). The house was spotlessly clean and Lynda was accessible if we needed anything. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay with Lynda. Thank you for hosting us, we enjoyed our stay with you.

I am really surprised by Lynda's comments. I communicated with her early enough to say that I had booked a place closer to Harvard and wasn't going to be at her home. Nevertheless, she said that she couldn't give her place out again- but it was indeed about a month to my arrival- which was surprising. I assured her that I would pay up in full for the 4 nights, even though I wasn't going to be there for 3 other nights. Note that this information was given to her more than a month before my arrival in Boston. I then told her that I would pass only a night with her because I had bought her a gift and needed to give it to her. I arrived MORE THAN ONE HOUR LATER than the scheduled time because a friend was to pick me up but couldn't, and met her ABSENCE. I did not arrive earlier than scheduled as she intimates. After sitting on her stairs for one more hour in a deserted house I sought help from her next door neighbour. Could I have sat outside forever? That brought her home in about another 30 minutes. Note that I had spent more than one hour at the airport waiting for a friend before I picked a taxi and then waited for one more hour on her stairs. She came back 30 minutes later. That makes it all together close to 3 hours behind schedule. It would have been closer to the truth if she had said that I over delayed in arriving. I am really disappointed with her comments.

When Ruby asked to cancel her booking I told her I was disappointed because I was excited to meet her and that I had refused other requests during a very busy time of the year to honor her booking. Ruby understood and decided to stay with me. It was her choice to honor her commitment. It was only once she got to my home that I found out she planned on leaving and having a stranger stay with me which I had declined. The check in time is the same for all of my guests. Ruby showed up hours before that without informing me and then frantically ran around my neighborhood giving out my personal information. When she gave my number to a stranger who then called me I rushed home from my doctor's appointment to greet her only to find out that she wanted a male friend to stay at my house in her place. This is violating the rules of Homestay.com. And proof that Ruby doesn't take the time to read the profile that hosts take the time to write. I declined having a stranger stay at my home who did not book through Homestay. As you can see in her reply she feels she is justified in giving out my personal information, disturbing my neighbors and attempting to switch her booking with a stranger. Hosting Ruby was a horrible experience and I caution any other host from accepting her requests to stay with them.

We loved staying with Lynda! She was very helpful, friendly and actually provided more than we expected. She offered a light breakfast every morning and even helped us out with towels, shampoo and conditioner! (It was our first homestay, and we would only do that for a few days and stay in hotels after that, so we weren't very well prepared). If we would return to Boston, we'd definately ask if Lynda would be willing to host us again!

Things are not as it seems in the picture provided. A guest accidentally soil a bedsheet on her arrival and wais made to go through stressful moment of seeing that the old sheets are washed of the stain, I had to move out to rent a hotel the following day. Too many instructions.

This guest menstruated all over my sheets and refused to wash them. I would never host her again because of the lack of respect she showed me and my home and her lack of personal hygiene.
