My daughter and I live in a 4 bedroom, 2 story duplex in a 3 story brownstone in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Near subway, adjacent to Prospect Park and only 20 minutes by subway (2 blocks from house) to Manhattan. We have two extremely friendly small dogs and love to welcome visitors from all over the world. We regularly host English language students and have two private bedrooms available to homestay guests with a shared bathroom (bathtub, shower and double sinks). There is an additional half bath downstairs on the living room, kitchen and dining room floor. We have an outdoor deck and a beautiful small garden complete with koi pond. Stays of a month or less must pay in advance to hold the spot. Stays of more than 30 days should pay a deposit of $500 which is refundable up to 30 days before your stay. I do this to reserve my home's availability for you. Minor changes can usually be accommodated.

Julie is nice and generous.
She sometimes teaches me English.
Her house is clean and neighborhood is quiet. There's a laundromat near her house.September 2018
I had a great stay at Julie's home. The location is really convenient and it was so much fun becoming familiar with a different part of Brooklyn. Park Slope is very safe and the apartment is just a short walking distance from public transport, a laundromat, a big Park and lots of cafes. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was much appreciated considering it was July and in the middle of a super hot Summer. I also loved having fresh eggs and bagels for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee. Julie is very accommodating and I enjoyed having a chat with her and her daughter, Rose. Her dogs are also very cute!

I'd great time in New York and living in Brooklyn with Julie played a big part in it. As I came to the Big Apple on my own feeling safe and welcomed was important to me. Julie was an amazing host, always helpful and happy to give me a lot of tips on how to enjoy New York without overspending. I felt at home and was able to integrate myself easily with the family, the neighborhood and the city. I can especially recommend Julie as a host and the neighbourhood for single traveling woman.
Thanks Julie!February 2017
I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, gracious host than Julie and her daughter, Rose.
This is my first time in New York (and first time in the USA), and Julie made me feel at home in her beautiful house. The area is very safe, and her home is spacious and very comfortable. It is also well located near the F train, which goes into Manhattan.
Staying with Julie is like staying with family. She and her daughter were really friendly and fun to talk to. She even has two, adorable little dogs!
I also have to mention the amazing breakfast that Julie makes on weekends. Wow. The best breakfast I’ve had so far in New York!
I am extremely appreciative of Julie’s hospitality. I couldn't have had a better beginning to my time here in New York.

Great Location, subway and shops very close by, quiet neighborhood. Juile and Rose looked after me as if I were a family friend, really felt like a home, was sad to leave. Breakfast in the morning was always great and varied. House is very nice, with lots of space and a back porch/garden area. Can't recommend highly enough.
