I'm Mrs. Longoria my friends would call me kind. I come from a large Irish, Italian, Mexican family. I am no longer working so I am home most of the time and would be more than happy to show you around the neighborhood or be your tour guide if needed. I grew up in Chicago area, moved to NWI a few years ago. I use to be a child care provider for over 20yrs as well as an event coordinator. I traveled to Ireland and Spain as an aupair in my 20's and loved traveling thru the beautiful countries. Many kind people welcomed me in their homes and treated me like part of their family while I was traveling abroad. Which is why when I seen the homestay website I thought it would be something I would like to be apart of. Help to give an authentic American experience to those visiting whether it be for a week or a year. I hope you pick me and my home for your next homestay.

About the Area
Our apartment is located in a friendly neighborhood located about 5 miles from the I80 Expressway and short ride from downtown Chicago. We are located just across the IL border. There are many authentic Mexican restaurants and grocery stores in our town. We are only a short drive or bus ride from the East Chicago Marina (Beach) local casinos, walking distance to groceries stores, a bus stop right outside the front door and a train station to downtown Chicago is less than a mile away. We live in a small time where you can either keep to yourself or get to know the locals who will treat you like an old friend. One block away from local park and public swimming pool.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
If you make a mess clean your mess
No additional guest without permission * for long term guest we will discuss prior to booking
No drugs in my household (this should go without saying but just making it clear)
Please keep your room clean, throw out all trash you have in your room.
You may purchase your own food items to eat or prepare and keep them in the fridge or cabinets.
If we make a large meal you are always welcome to eat with us however, please do not take our food to eat or cook without asking in advance. If you do please replace it.
Smoking is not allowed in my apartment, you may smoke outside in the yard, on the porch or designated smoking area in front.
Absolutely no cats allowed (sorry I am allergic) If you have a small dog traveling with you contact me to discuss. Small dogs will incur a small deposit to cover cleaning or any damages that may incur and a small daily (monthly) pet rent.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
