We are a loving, friendly family. Ligia is from tropical Brazil, and loves living in Chicago now. Her home is clean, modern, and spacially exciting! Luke is a high school teacher, and loves learning about other cultures. Guests from all over the world have enjoyed staying with Luke &Ligia for 7 years now; the home is in a convenient location, it is very clean and safe; guests feel a sense of privacy as well as friendship in our home. Guests have private entry and keys for accessibility.
Our home is in the BEST location of Chicago: Edgewater is trendy, safe, and sightly. Our home is very modern; Ligia is an interior decorator and Brazilian chef. We own a duplex apartment. We live on the first floor and host students and guests in the garden level unit. We have 3 bedrooms in our garden level unit for rent. Our bedrooms are furnished and kept very clean. One bathroom is private (Room 2) and one bathroom is shared (Room 1 & Room 3). Although we usually keep our upstairs kitchen private, we do maintain a shared kitchenette for the guests in the garden level unit. The kitchenette includes refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, sink, filtered water, and cupboard space for food storage. Included in the room is cable TV, free internet access, free laundry, and a/c. We live upstairs and provide our guests with privacy as well as a hospitable environment that is very friendly and informative. Our guests are very friendly, respectful, clean, and courteous. All our guests share the guest living space together, though mostly they are either in their room or not home.
The guests have their own entrance, for a maximum feeling of privacy. Guest bedrooms are downstairs, and our bedrooms are upstairs, making a very comfortable, enjoyable experience. 1 bedroom has a private bathroom, 2 bedrooms share a spacious bathroom. (Everything is very clean!) The kitchenette is available for storing groceries and using electrical appliances. We also have a dining space and living space on the downstairs level for comfortable experiences.

About the Area
My Edgewater home is footsteps to the train and 12.87 ml away from the center of Chicago. We are 3 blocks from the beach. Our neighborhood is wonderful; near to shopping, restaurants, and pubs. I'll help you with transport details too if you let us know how you will be arriving, airport, bus, taxi, driving etc

Luke and Ligia have tidy accommodations in a fine house not far away from the center and they are really nice. The value for the money is very fair. I can highly recommend this homestay.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
