I love sharing my home and life with international students and can't wait to meet the next one! I have been hosting for 20 years and have learned so much about other cultures. I've made friends that are still in my life, and gotten to travel to their countries as well. I have been fortunate enough to travel widely my entire adult life, so I may have been in your country, If not, I will want to know all about it. :-)
I live alone with my Chihuahua, Parker, but my sons and children come over. We are always going out somewhere, and you're certainly invited to join us anytime. Otherwise things are quiet during the week. I am a writer, and I work from home.
Our home is spacious, clean, and fully equipped with high quality furnishings and professionally cleaned every week. I am a total bed snob, so the bed lines are really fine. I love art, so there is lots of that around too. We are located in Plano, a contiguous surburb of Dallas, with easy walking access to the bus and train. We are situated between two major shopping areas, so shopping is quick and easy. Also lots of restaurants nearby. Plano is 20% Asian, so we have lots of authentic Indian, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese restaurants.
You will have a spacious private bedroom with a full bed, desk, chair, dresser, bookcase, nightstand and lamp, free wifi, closet, window, and ceiling fan. However, please don't stay shut up in your room. Join us for meals, movies, or chatting by the pool or fireplace.
We speak only English here, and I am an ESL teacher, so if you want some hints on language while visiting, just ask! I am also a willing tour guide as I just love doing it when my schedule allows.

About the Area
Our homes located on the north side of Dallas in a quiet and safe suburb. We are 3 KM from the city center and about 30 minutes from DFW airport. Better yet, it is just 3 blocks to the bus which takes you to the clean, modern DART rail train in 10 minutes. You can get anywhere from here on the bus.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
