Shula's profile from what I booked originally was not entirely accurate and honest. I was very disappointed to find that there was no wifi as stated.
I got the idea that she was not happy to be a host. During one period of my stay I was sick with an infection and she actually made a snarky comment about me sleeping in one day. I didn't understand why she had bells on the bathroom door and living room door. It felt like a bit of a police state.August 2019
The location is safe and pretty convenient for getting to SF, but my experience staying here was that I was unwelcome in the house. Whenever I had a day off work, Shula seemed to be constantly asking when I would be going back to work. I was initially directed by Shula to use the dining room to eat and then just days later told via text message to not use the dining room. When I was washing the community (bathroom/kitchen) hand towels on my second week of living there, I received a text from Shula saying she only allowed 1 load of laundry a week (even though that was only the second load of laundry I’d done since moving in). The bedroom does not actually have a window outside, only to this little indoor terrace that is surrounded by foot to ceiling walls, so fresh air was pretty minimal. There is no WiFi and the hot water runs out after about 7-8 minutes, so just be aware of those things before you book. If you are coming out for an internship and will be at work all day every day, it would probably be a good spot for you. Otherwise, I would not be able to highly recommend it.

"The profile was not updated. Also, please note that there was not Wi-Fi, even though it was stated in the listing that you would have internet access.
The host - Shula, often came up with absurd accusations. This ranged from accusing me of spoiling her microwave (which didn't work the first time I used it), to demanding for her to "take a day off work" - none of which I had done. The bathroom lights are also extremely dim - I had to use my flashlight every time I used the toilet at night. There is no kitchen towel or paper towels in the kitchen - all that you have are loose pieces of paper towels stuffed into a cupboard (obviously taken from somewhere) and some are reused pieces with lipstick stains on them. The bathroom rack is extremely dirty with mold that gets stuck on your toiletries.
Then came a day when she decided to forcefully take away the heater in my room. She said that it "used up a lot of expensive electricity" and then barged into my room without my permission to remove the heater.
Then one day, at 12 midnight, she banged on my door and started yelling at me. She accused me of being the most demanding person ever because I "asked her to take a day off work" (which I did none of) and "I asked for a heater" after she forcefully removed mine. And then she told me to "leave because i'm extremely unhappy" (I had already paid my rent for subsequent weeks).
Obviously, I moved out soon after. I also had to forfeit my rent for ~9 days and she still demanded for "30 days grace period" and asked for me to pay an extra month's worth of rent cos she was losing income."
