We are an artistic couple with a long history in NYC culture and life and are relatively new to our home of Elizabeth, NJ, which is a very close to NYC. We live in a big funky historic building in a four-floor walk-up, which means your guest room will have expansive views. Through Home Stay, we are looking forward to welcoming folks from various cultures and will do our best to make your stay interesting and stress-free~!

About the Area
Our apartment building is on a corner, so the guest room is looking out over a family-filled street with a prominent grade school and yet the front of the building offers double street parking as we are across from a well-lit shipping facility. It is a multi-cultural urban neighborhood with many nearby eateries and grocery stores as well as many local churches.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
If you do smoke in the room, please open a window and make sure you are wide awake.
We ask that you always lock the bolt lock when you exit unless simply running downstairs for food, etc.
No other guests unless you know them very well. In that case, it is fine.
You are welcome to drink and listen to music, etc at reasonable volumes and hours. You may smoke or vape cannabis with ventilation and/or an open window. No hard drugs, of course.
You must not be allergic to cats. (Our cats keep to themselves and are very clean)
Please, if possible, take out your garbage before you exit.

Even though I was not able to go for my stay with Cynthia, She was very kind and respectful. I will recommend a stay with Cynthia to anyone coming to New York and Nearby New Jersey a million times. She is very insightful about the city. Book a stay with Cynthia and you'd be sure of a very warm welcome home

I did not know where I was going to stay when I arrived in New Jersey. Extremely grateful to find this room with Cynthia which is next to the airport. Great host, attentive and genuine. Enjoy a conversation with her.
I was able to walk to the bus or train about 20 min away to get to New York(an hour ride by bus or train). Pretty much did it everyday. Some good pizza places nearby and a diner. Even a local bar with good nightlife. I’d be glad to come stay here again.

Loved the place and the conversation, Calm and comfortable to rest. Enjoyed the flavor options from cilantro/coriander to Turmeric for breakfast. Google shows closest bus 115 or SIM33c or fast from highway. I just tested bus 62 is ok, or NJ train if wanted to walk.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
