Our family lives in a spacious six bedroom, four bath home just a few minutes walk to the trolley, main bus stop and a shopping mall with many restaurants shops and movie theaters. Only 8 minutes by trolley to San Diego State University (SDSU), Connect English Laungage Institute & 10 minutes to Grossmont College by express bus. We are close to three freeways for easy access if you are driving.
By car we are between 15-20 minutes to Down Town, the San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Sea World, most beaches and malls. We are ZOO members and are happy to be your personal ZOO guide if available when you want to go.
The weather here is pretty perfect most of the time so we often BBQ and eat outside in our garden. This is also a great spot to sit and read a book, write post cards or do homework if you are here for school.
We have three amazing kids ages 13 - 19 who have enjoyed hosting students in our home from all over the world as long as they can remember. We have been hosting for 23 years now. Our children love to perform and are usually working on a show with their musical theater group. We have a piano and the kids play a little piano as well as guitar and Ukulele. There is often music in our home.
We have no pets. We are a non-smoking property & home.
My husband loves to cook and I love to bake so there are often tasty treats to share with you.
We look forward to meeting you and showing you our beautiful city.

About the Area
Our home is located in La Mesa which is a suburb of San Diego. We are just a few minutes walk to the Grossmont Center Trolley Station and Grossmont Shopping Center which has over 100 shops, restaurants and movie theaters.
La Mesa is also the home of Lake Murray which is a fun place to spend some time walking, running, biking, skating and fishing.
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum is located near the Spring Street Trolley station. The Depot is the oldest building in La Mesa. This is a great musuem to take kids to. Climbing on the old trains is fascinating and inspires their imagination. Best of all, admission is Free!
One of the best views of San Diego can be found in La Mesa on the top of Mount Helix. The Mt. Helix park is a fun place to visit and take some amazing photos. Our home has a view of Mt Helix.

Please do not invite strangers into our home; if you would like to invite a friend over please just ask me in advance.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
