About the Homestay
As long term resident in this family home where I live by myself now, but also have had quite a few guests over the years.
My place is a good combination of light and shade and soothing colors.
I work from home most of the time and will be available for questions of all kinds even lessons in English or German if that is something you are interested in.
I have two bedrooms and one good size bath. The kitchen is big and has a breakfast bar. In the backyard is an inviting shaded patio with table chairs BBQ and sofa and table tennis. Most of the time of the year there is a nice breeze. A sweater might be needed at times even in the middle of the summer, while air conditioning is not needed other than a couple days a year.
At night I am at tango dancing events a few times a week and if that is also your hobby you are welcome to carpool there.
Public transportation is close to my home and one can get to most places in LA with some easy planning. Good restaurants and coffee shops are in walking distance.

This was our first experience with home stay. Cornelia is a lovely host, sociable, helpful and happy to interact with her guests or leave you to do your own thing. We chose to stay here as we wanted to be away from the frantic pace of Los Angeles to recuperate after a long flight from Australia and to chill out before going on a cruise leaving from the Port of Long Beach. Cornelia was happy to transport us to the port for a small fee. Cornelia has a comfy, cosy home in a nice area located within walking distance of several restaurants and close to the bus stop. This was important for us as we didn't have a car. We used a shuttle bus from LA airport to get to Long Beach. The distance from the airport was approximately 25 km. It takes about one hour with the traffic.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
