Huge, sun-filled, private furnished room in a historic upper Manhattan building, steps from the Met Cloisters, an express A train station, and Inwood Hill Park.
The room is 12' x 16' with high ceilings and picture frame molding, and comes furnished with a queen sized memory foam mattress and bed, a brand new full sized couch, a desk with a flip up vanity top, a flat screen tv with nearly all streaming channels, a chifferobe to store your clothes, and a hall closet for wardrobe overflow.
The shared spaces include the bathroom, an oversized galley kitchen, and a small vestibule/dining room. We each have our own living room & study spaces inside our rooms rather than a shared living room so we can unwind, get work done etc. in privacy.
You will be sharing with me, a friendly and quiet native New Yorker in her 30's, and my extremely friendly dog. She is animal reactive though, so no pets under any circumstances. I'll also ask you not to bring any meat or eggs into the house, but you are welcome to bring dairy, pre-made foods containing eggs like baked goods are fine, and anything plant based, and you will have full use of the kitchen.
The building has an elevator - re: accessibility, there is a tiny step in front of the main entrance and a raised threshold at the entrance to the bedroom - if you need pictures or measurements, let me know.
There is also a pay-to-use laundry room on the premises.

About the Area
The history of Manhattan starts here in Inwood. From the old growth forest in Inwood Hill Park, with 50,000 year old rock formations that were used hundreds of years ago as shelters by the Lenape - the original inhabitants of the island, to Shorakkopoch Rock - according to tradition, the spot of Manhattan's purchase by Dutch settlers, to the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum - a relic of the family farm that operated in the area for much of the 18th and 19th centuries, to the hundred year old art deco buildings like mine that sprang up during the building boom after the subway lines were extended north, to Quisqueya plaza, the newly created public space named for the Dominican community that thrives here today and hosts events like the Latin Night Market. It has all of the convenience you would hope for in Manhattan - the express A train is quite literally next door, the 1 train is 2 blocks away, buses abound, a 24 hour grocery store across the street, right next to the newest library in the city. There is a Starbucks on the corner, better coffee down the block, and every kind of restaurant you could want within walking distance.
The biggest attraction nearby is the Met Cloisters inside Fort Tryon Park, just across the street. It houses the Met's collection of medieval art in one of the most beautiful and serene settings in New York. An absolute must-see. From here you're perfectly positioned to travel to all of the museums and attractions that Manhattan has to offer - Times Square is 30 minutes away on the subway, and so is Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, and MOMA. You can even reach most parts of Brooklyn in under an hour. If you need help figuring out a commute time or planning a route, just ask - I'm a native who has lived, worked or gone to school in nearly every part of this city.
