I love meeting people from all over the world. We have 1 Single room available with a full size bed, desk, wardrobe and amazing views. Our home is conveniently located to many shops, restaurants, grocery, banks, etc. on Lakeshore/Grand Ave. We are approximately 30-60 minutes to Downtown Berkeley by public transportation and 30-45 mins to Downtown San Francisco.
Donna is 56 and enjoys cooking, watching movies, reading, photography, socialising, travel, learning foreign languages, television, gardening, nature, and board games. She speaks English
Paul is 54 and enjoys sports, music, gigs, festivals, socialising, travel, learning foreign languages, gardening, nature, board games, and science. He speaks English and Spanish

I spent 4 incredible months in Oakland with Donna and her family. I liked everything with them. We shared a good dinner together every night, the bedroom is very counfortable, and I had my own shower. I felt like home. Feel free to go in this family!

Excellent experience in Oakland with the Suzuki family. These people are very king and helpful. Such a great family to discover the Bay area. You're gonna enjoy your journey if You go in thier family!

Mein Aufenhalt bei der Familie war super, Sie sind sehr freundliche Gastgeber und haben großes Interesse an mir und meiner Kultur gezeigt. Ich werde bei meinem nächsten Aufenhalt in San Fransisco oder Umgebung auf jeden Fall wieder versuchen bei dieser Familie untergebacht zu werden. Ich habe mich bei der Familie sehr wohlgefühlt, da das Geld nicht im Vordergrund stand sondern meine Kultur. Die Frau der Familie ist eine sehr gute köchin und macht super essen mit frischen Produkten. Ich kann diese Familie sehr empfehelen. Negative Punkte waren, dass das Gästebad nicht wirklich schön und freundlich ist, es ist ziemlich kühl, da es dort keine Heizung gibt, außerdem hat man ein Problem wenn man über 170cm ist denn der Duschkopf ist zu weit unten angebracht. Wenn man in erster Liene San Francisco besichtigen möchte muss man mit 30-40 Minuten Fahrzeit rechnen und (max) 4 $ pro Strecke einkalkulieren. Die sauberkeit war vollkommen OK, jedoch noch wie bei mir zu Hause deshalb hier nur drei Sterne.

I spent two weeks in this lovely family. You will learn many things about this california and you progress in your learning of English. I highly recommend this family friendly though.And as Linda said, you will discover the flavors of this country and the food is very good. The atmosphere is excellent and the area is safe and quiet.

I spent a enjoyable time here, and i am still here. You will know a lot of things about America from them, and Donna's food is beyond delicious. You will love this family.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
