The girls are grown up and moved away but visit every now and then and do their grocery shopping on my pantry. I live in the suburbs of Washington, DC metropolitan area. I don't have any problem dropping/picking guests up at the metro. The entire lower level (finished basement) with a full bath has complete privacy. This is the same level I use for couchsurfers and would be available for homestay. I live with my wife and our 4-legged boss, a 7-lb Chihuahua.
We have a huge deck and an even bigger patio below it. We have a conservatory with a baby grand piano, living room, formal dining room, den, library, half bath and kitchen on the first level. The second floor has 4 additional br with 3 full baths.
I can host a single traveler or max of two traveling together.

About the Area
Olney, is one of the many towns/cities in Montgomery County, Maryland and in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Ride on Buses and Metro buses go to the Shady Grove Metro and Glenmont Metro (Red Line) which would take you to Washington, DC and or Northern Virginia.
The Ride On Bus comes in the neighborhood during Rush hour only (5:00 am - 9:00am and from 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm). I'm 2 miles away from the city center and the main road where Metro bus is available until midnight. There are 4 major grocery stores (Harris Teeter, Giant, Safeway and Food Warehouse) within 200 meters from each other. It's surrounded by many restaurants and fast food joints ( Sakura, Mama Lucia, Ricciuti, Olney Grill, Grill Marx SteakHouse, Olney Ale House, Wazabi Zen, Le Mannequin Pis, Thai Cusine, Pho and Grill, Sol Azteca, The Greene Turtle, California Tortilla, Olney Sakura, Baskins Robbins, Cold Stone, Chipotle, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Chick Fil a, Five Guys, and many others.

House Rules
On weekdays, I would appreciate if guests are back by midnight. Cars are necessary. I do not give out keys and alarm code. Also, the French door leading outside into the patio should only be opened in case of fire or emergency. It's advisable to coordinate time of arrival/departure as we both go to work. Although my wife and I normally leave for work at 6:00 am, I Could use a little flexibility and leave at 7:00 am which means, guests would have to leave too. My wife gets home between 7:00 - 8:00 pm but I'm usually home at 4:15pm. The house alarm is set at night and the monitor company would notify the police or fire department in case of emergency, break in or one of the doors or windows are opened.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
