First off, congratulations on your plans to come to San Diego! We love our city and love helping people to discover all of the beautiful places to visit and fun things to do in, and around, San Diego. We also love hearing about al of the adventures our guests have here. It inspires us to appreciate where we live that much more.
A little more about us and our house. There are three of us in the house, including our pooch - mother, adult daughter, and our rescued lab mix dog. We all share a large home with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and big front and back yards. Our backyard is quiet and serene with a large pool and plenty of space for relaxing. We are located in the Bay Ho neighborhood of Clairemont with a bus stop three-tenths of a mile from our house and a large shopping center one mile away.
We started hosting folks through homestay in 2009 and have since hosted guests from 13-45 and from all over the world. Most folks have been in San Diego to study English, and see the sights, others to attend local schools or universities, and a few here to do internships. All have gotten around town via various means - public transportation (bus and/or trolley), bikes or scooter share, personal bike/scooter, Uber/Lyft, and the occasional car rental (typically for out of town trips such as Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon).
Our house is typically very quiet and our lifestyle is easy going. This makes for a good fit with lots of different guests. We like to take our pup out to the beach and dog parks, spend time with friends, read, and go to the movies, or watch them on a screen in our backyard. One of our favorite things to do is to watch the sunset. A few of our favorite sunset pictures from local beaches are included with the photos in our profile. We've taught lots of guests about the green flash at sunset too!
We provide food for a continental breakfast that you prepare on your own.
The configuration in our three rooms is somewhat flexible.
Room 1, for example, can be set up with two twins beds, one twin bed, or one king bed. Currently, rooms 1 and 2 are set up with two beds in each and 2 students are sharing each room. Guests in room 1 have their own half bathroom, otherwise, all guests share a full bathroom. If there are particular amenities you don't see listed, please ask and we'll see if we can arrange for them to be available to you.

About the Area
Our house is located in the quiet, safe Bay Ho neighborhood of Clairemont, a centrally situated community in the city of San Diego. We are three tenths of a mile from the bus stop and one mile from a large shopping center.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
