Hi! My name is Holly and I'm originally from Chicago and I’m very easy going and am always very happy to meet new people, especially from other parts of the world so I can learn about new cultures and I can teach them what it’s like here. I love checking out and experiencing new things, foods & places. I love to experience new things and love to learn about anything new and am always willing to try something that I never have before. My favorite thing in the world is traveling, I've been fortunate enough to have been to many places but there are still many more on my list to see.

I live in the master bedroom of a single story, ground level, 3 bedroom townhouse that I purchased 8 years ago as my very first home. I rent out the other 2 guest rooms throughout the year, to either Homestay guests, ASU students, Foreign exchange students (many have been boys from Saudi Arabia) or just a local Tempe person in need of a room. Currently, a guy named Jon who found me here on this Homestay site, is currently renting out the other guest bedroom. He booked a 1 month stay with me when he drove across country from the Midwest to Arizona for accept a new computer job offer, and he ended up deciding to stay long term as permanent resident in my home because he enjoyed his stay in my home so much! He has signed a year lease for now and he’s the cleanest, most polite and considerate tenant/roomate I think I’ve ever had and I’m so lucky I found him! When you book a reservation with me, you will have your own private bedroom but you’ll share the bathroom right next to your bedroom primarily with whoever happens to be renting out the other guest room during your time of stay, which right now is Jon along with any guests who stop come to the house will use that bathroom, but I have my own private bathroom and shower. Jon is also very quiet and works early mornings and is gone every day for his job by 5:30am, so bathroom sharing shouldn’t be an issue. Once a month he spends a weekend serving duties to the Army Reserves. The washer and dryer is also in the bathroom so I will only use that space when I’m doing my laundry.

The guest room you will be staying in was just recently renovated with new modern gray plank tiles to replace the old ugly carpet and freshly painted walls including baseboards, closet interior and shelving and even the popcorn ceiling was removed and repainted. Thanks to the great new wax warmer just added, the room always smells fresh and clean. I always keep a large stock of different scented waxes so everyone can pick and choose the scent of their liking! In addition to competent renovating the room, we also completely furnished it with all brand new curtains & rods for both the closet and window, we also added a new window lock for your safety along with new smoke alarms in every room and a carbon monoxide detector in the center of the home for everyone’s safety. The furniture is complemented by matching modern decor & wall art. The room comes stocked with a brand new queen sized memory foam cooling gel mattress that’s always made with fresh clean linens in between guest stays. There are 2 dressers so you’ll never have a shortage of storage space, 1 inside the very spacious closet that runs the entire length of the wall and the other is under the wall mounted flatscreen tv. The tv has a smart Blu-ray player hooked up to it and all ugly chords are hidden by a cover to keep the room looking neat. The closet comes equipped with several shoe organizers, cubbies and cube shelves for even more organized storage and laundry hamper for dirty clothes. Next to the bed is a short bookshelf where you can store your food, books, or whatever you decide, and on the other side of the bed is a tall glass display shelf which is next a desk/vanity to do homework or makeup! Near the bed is also where everyone’s personal favorite room feature is kept, their very own private mini fridge/freezer to store some of their personal items in and the convenience of always having an icy cold drink within your reach is always nice. We are constantly trying to stay cool in this Arizona Summer heat so in addition to the central air conditioning, a personal fan along with the addition of your ceiling fan is a nice option to have to really keep cool and comfortable all year round!

We are very close to ASU campus (2 miles) and the light rail and several highways are only a city block away. We have access to the community pool that's open 24/7. I have two small dogs who are very friendly and playful. If you've never been to Arizona, you'll love it, the weather is beautiful, there are gorgeous mountains everywhere for hiking, lots of outdoor activities to do, Palm trees which are my personal favorite. The condo is less than 5 minutes away from downtown Tempe and the eclectic Mill Avenue district which is full of trendy restaurants and bars, boutiques, shops, arts, music, museums and festivals. We are 2 minutes away from Tempe town lake which has kayaking, fishing, concerts and much more. Downtown Phoenix and the airport are about 10 minutes away and in less than an hour from the house, I pictured just some of the many activities the Phoenix metro area has to offer! This location is the prime spot for so many fun activities to do and places to see, any kind of person, no matter their type of personality, will be sure to find something they love here with all there is to choose from. If there was something you wanted to do or a place you wanted to go, I would definitely be more than happy to help you book all the necessary details, or if you wanted company, I would be happy to join you and show you! If this sounds like something that would interest you, please email me so we can figure out your stay!!!

About the Area

We are in the most Northern and Eastern part of Tempe. We are just one street away from Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe Marketplace and the light rail. They are all on different streets of course but no matter which direction you take, you’re going to end up next to one of these places. We 2 miles away from ASU which is in downtown Tempe, and the beautiful Tempe Town Lake and Bridge I included in the photos, is within walking distance from the house. If you don’t have a car, there is a bus stop right outside the complex at the corner of our street if you don’t want to ride the light rail. The new Cubs Baseball Stadium is also 2 minutes and Walmart is less than 5 and basically anything and everything you could want or need is just minutes away from the house!
