About the Homestay

Urban Stylish

Welcome to New Jersey/New York!
It is ideal for people looking to visit the city for a couple of days as well as looking to stay for a couple of months. Please message me if you are interested in staying for an extended period of time and I will be happy to discuss long-term pricing with you then.
The apartment has been completely renovated and newly furnished. The walls have been newly painted and a sprinkler system installed.
I live upstairs, so you can pop in anytime to ask questions or to just hang out!
If you don't find the dates you're looking for, shoot me an inquiry anyways and I'll do what I can to help you, including recommending other great local hosts.
Great energy and very peaceful! Feel free to message me with any questions!

* There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven and more ... We provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We encourage you to make yourself at home. Depending on the length of your stay, you can stack up on food and drink, there is plenty of storage space! We suggest restaurants (menus available including of those that deliver!)
* We will provide a set of keys to the front door and the apartment to assure privacy and security
* In addition to a very comfortable queen-sized bed there is a couch in the living room, that can sleep an extra person.
* Free WIFI
* Includes all linens, blankets, towels and pillows
* Fully equipped kitchen
* LGBT friendly
* Pet friendly
I live on the first floor in the building (it is a 2-family home), so you can pop in anytime to ask questions or just hang out! I like to keep in contact with guests via WhatsApp or Viber (Text or Email or Cell), so I can assist if needed.
* Located in Union City, NJ, a very short direct bus ride to the Times Square area
* Three blocks from gorgeous Manhattan views (along the Hudson River)
* Jitney Buses to Manhattan/Times Square run every minute during the day, and every 4 minutes at night. Buses run 24/7. They leave from the Post Office on 30th Street - a 10-15 minute walk from the house.
It is easier and faster to commute into the City from Union City than commuting from Brooklyn or Queens. If you were to stay in the Bronx it would take you 40 min to get to Times Square. If you were to stay in Brooklyn it would take you the same amount of time as subways in Brooklyn are not direct. If you were to stay in Manhattan you would not find a place as big as this one for this price.
* Great grocery and wine/liquor stores in the neighborhood; a Bodega around the corner (open until 10 pm), and the supermarket is just a few blocks away.
* Very safe neighborhood, lots of great restaurants and bakeries but also very quiet at night.

    Thank you Hannelore!
    We enjoyed very much our stay. The apartment is nice and comfortable (the couch too, for the possible third guest), and Hannelore is very helpful and gives great advice. The commute to the PABT in NYC is easy and generally done in about 20 min. We definitely recommend staying at her place and may come back in the future!
    Thanks again Hannelore,

    our holidays were very good and our host was very friendly. The appartment was cleaning and beautiful and a little big and large. The area was very cosmopolite english and spanish languages. The Engerline had a lot of store and the transport service express is very practical to go NYC about 10 min in bus.

    My stay in Hannelore's basement apartment was superb! Prior to my stay, her communication with me made me feel very welcome and I was very much looking forward to my arrival.
    I was not disappointed. She is a delightful and excellent host and the apartment was very well appointed and had everything one could possibly want or need. Hanneloe was always available to answer questions and provide tips and directions in New York.
    I even went with her to walk her beautiful dog Logan and we went to a point in Union City with the most beautiful view over the New York skyline under a full moon that night. Definitely a highlight of my trip!
    The apartment is very close to transport into Manhattan and elsewhere. I always felt safe in the area and after a week there I felt almost like a local!
    I would thoroughly recommend staying at Hannelore's apartment to anyone who wanted a great experience in New York. There is a lot more I could write to describe my stay with Hannelore but I have new places to see and explore during my time here in the States!

    Hannelore was a fantastic host, providing us with perfect accommodation for our first trip to the area. She was extremely helpful and communicative before and during our stay, including arranging transfers to and from JFK at extremely short notice. Her advice for things to do (or not do) in NYC/NJ was invaluable and we are very grateful to her.

    Thanks Hannelore! We have been recommending you to our friends and family here in the UK.
