About the Homestay
Our home is located in upper West Orange. We have many amenities, including parking, internet, movie channels, laundry, excellent and healthy meals. I welcome you to stay! I enjoy cooking and board games and have 1 Single room with Closet / Wardrobe, Mirror, Desk and Lamp, Air Conditioning, Hair-dryer, Fridge, and TV.
Doug is 57. He speaks English and enjoys cooking, watching movies, reading, photography, socializing, travel, learning foreign languages, television, gardening, nature, and board games
Carlos is 50 and enjoys cooking, watching movies, music, gigs, festivals, reading, learning foreign languages, socializing, nature, and board games. He speaks English and Spanish.
Carlos and Douglas have been a couple for nearly 20-years.

Please enjoy your stay and treat our house as you would your own home or just clean up after yourself - leave the area you were using as you found it for the next person to enjoy.

The house is great but the best are the hosts. They make you feel as family and care about your well-being. And they are good cooks!
I sincerely thank Douglas and Carlos for bring us a quite unforgettable Chrstmas trip. Doug and Carlos are very nice people, and everything in their house is spotless. The hosts are so considerate and generous. After the first night we told them the original window shades were too thin to block street lights at night, and they went to Ikea to buy new shades for us immediately. They also bought us new slippers, shared nice foods & drinks, offered carpool, and even repaired my broken suitcase wheel. Their cat is so cute. This is my first home stay experience and everything just fell beyond my expectation!
I stayed with Doug & Carlos for three months and can only recommend it to everyone. They are very friendly and helpful persons who made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. They introduced me to New York City as well as to the countryside of NY&NJ on a lot of trips on the weekend. Going out and having a couple of beers with Doug & Carlos was always fun. The appartment and the guestroom are very nice and always clean and comfortable. Furthermore Carlos is a great chef - I always enjoyed having dinner with the guys. All in all I had a fantastic time staying with them and would come back any time. Thank you so much!
This stay was wonderfull. I felt very comfortable and welcomed. Douglas and Carlos are two friendly and supporting people. I would stay there again!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
