Bartell Guest Retreat“花园房”

From my first day staying with Ray & Trish, where I got invited to join them for Sunday lunch, I knew staying with them had the potential of being a great experience. Not only were they great hosts, but they gave me guidance in so many ways for a person unfamiliar with the area. We went back and forth cooking meals for each other about once a week, which was a cool way to bond over dinner discussions. They helped me find a temporary day job to keep me busy and earn extra income. One of their sons went on weekly grocery store runs with me while the other hit the weights (gym) with me, both kind enough to give me rides to these places. Two moments that perfectly encapsulate the kindness and great hospitality you will receive from Ray, Trish, & their family (as long as you are respectful) were when they hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for me away from home. This was really special for me though hard to express at the time because they had 8 family members join us who were regularly around the house and we went around and said what we were thankful for/appreciated about each other at the table. Another that sums up my trip perfectly is when Ray & Trish took me up to their seaside home to finish up my stay and experience their small coastal town oasis. It shows how close we had all become and I'm thankful we all had that experience. Wouldn't recommend anybody else for the best stay in Greenwood! One thing I will say is that public transportation isn't as convenient as advertised. The train station is a good trek from the house and biking around isn't the easiest to do with all the hills (even for an athlete with a high workload). Transportation isn't as cheap as Sydney (outside of SYD airport area) and the amount of buses you have to hop on and off from just to get to your destination isn't worth the time a lot. If the train station is your first stop though, it isn't too bad and a train will come every 5-10 minutes. Highly recommend you have access to a car, especially if you intend on working in the city (Perth).

Raymond's house is really nice. Everything I need is included such as washing machine, cooking facility. And they are all in a perfect state. The house is very clear, comfortable and also beautiful which is very relaxing. Raymond often hold party in their house and we are welcome to join. It is a good experience for us to join a western party. Raymond's family is also nice to us.
There is just a little bit problem. That is the wifi is not stable enough. But I think it is not a critical problem when compare to other advantages in the house.
