Gloria's apartment is very conveniently located, 10 minutes' walk to Plaza Mayor, and close to La Latina and Tirso de Molina metro stations, and buses. My room and bed were very clean and comfortable and there was ample storage space. The bathroom is shared, but, like the rest of the apartment, spotlessly clean. I was there for 2 weeks and although there were sometimes guests in the next room I rarely encountered them. I was given a shelf in the fridge, and was able to make tea and heat food in the microwave. I was aware at times of hammering and discussions related to what I understood was a furniture business that Gloria and her partner appear to run from another room, but this did not bother me in any way. The apartment block is in a narrow street off the main El Rastro area, and the market on Sundays spilled over into the street below. For El Rastro enthusiasts, a bonus! My Spanish was not sufficient to always understand Gloria very well, but she is adept with a translation app, and we managed fine. On a daily basis we didn't interact much, but when we did she was warm and kind, and I had a pleasant, safe and comfotrable stay.
