Alex was a perfect host. She was very helpful with explaining the surroundings including telling me about the buses, how to get downtown, and the best time to be in at night for safety. Alex was very helpful with booking excursions for me and she was delightful to be around she has a sweet sense of humor and a positive personality. we went on a few trips together which was very helpful because I do not speak much Spanish.her home is very close to town within walking distance of San Jose. I can't wait to go back to Costa Rica. I will certainly stay with Alex again.

out of the 3 homestay hosts i had in ireland, this family was my favorite! I felt like I had run into old friends after the first day in their home. Bernie (wife and mom) is a hard working woman who keeps an immaculate home and is very caring and attentive to her homestay guests in so many ways. She waited for me getting into Dublin when the train was over an hour late, showed me around town on the way home, helped me to get around town, was always including me in tea and family gatherings, and was knowledgeable about things to do and see in Ireland. She changed my sheets and cleaned my room every weekend. Her husband is a very deep, sweet man who really knows his history, Irish and more! They have an amazingly remodeled home that is an interior designer's dream, however the feel is very comfortable and is in an upscale neighborhood. From the heated marble floors to the heated towels holders and large guest bedrooms, I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel but with warmth and personality. Bernie went above and beyond, making an appointment and driving me to the doctor when I needed to go. Meagan, their dog, is the absolute best as well. Their son Michael is an avid soccer fan and a very sweet young man. The house is exceptionally secure and tidy. I wish I could have stayed longer!

sean and julia were an absolute delight to stay with! i felt comfortable immediately, like i had ran into good old friends. they are both excellent and abundant cooks. their home is beautifully decorated with sean's travels, and very tidy and well organized. there is no better value for the money, and they went far beyond what is included in the price. we went out all together for st. patricks day into the town and sean introduced me to their friends. i felt extremely secure in the home. their are tall fences in the back, and a heavy metal gate and front door which is always locked. sean and julia were always checking with me to see that i had what i wanted. their house is a very short walk into the city center to do the main attractions and sean and julia offered me information on what is available in town and helped in so many other ways as they were very available either at home or by telephone. i could not have asked for more from a homestay host.

sharon and allan and their daughter were fabulous people. sharon provided me with all kinds of information about Galway, drove me around to get my bearings, and they are both excellent cooks. they were very easy to be around and excellent hosts. the room was perfect, a big bed, tv and dvd and a great selection of dvds. when i return to Galway i would love to stay with them again.
