We spent a full month with this lovely family in a great small town in the south of France. They were wonderful hosts and offered much information on places to see, things to do. We had some dinners with them as well - great fun - and also enjoyed meeting other (French) people staying with Olivia and David and their two daughters. Everyone was helpful and patient in teaching us a little French. Puy L'Evêque is a great base from which to visit picturesque towns and medieval castles and churches and also the town of Cahors, and it is situated in Cahors vineyards extending 25 miles along the river Lot, with perhaps a hundred small wineries to visit. Puy L'Evêque has a weekly market, a boucherie, 3 boulangeries, a grocery, a Supermarché, and several restaurants and is also on Grand Randonnée and Petite Randonnée hiking trails, so small but with many conveniences. It's on a steep hill right on the river Lot, also good for daily walks. We hope to return someday.
