I am a college professor (b.1942) from New York City. My Chinese wife (b. 1974) andI had an exceptional time . The best part was talking with Sachiko about her life and her family’s lives. In fact, talking with her was as important as sightseeing. What is special about her and other family members is they are grounded in traditional Japanese family values , but they are also adventurous, free spirits, in terms of traveling and spending time in the U.S. and Europe. Both Sachiko and her daughter are interested in music especially African American music and have been singers in bands. They have university educations . Other family members have interesting backgrounds as well. Most of Sachiko s guests are students who are studying Japanese. Many stay for months and often return again. Sachiko has a special talent for working with young people. My wife and I were sad to leave but plan to stay in touch and hope to see Sachiko and her family members again. Highly recommended for all ages. 5 hearts and more
