Kana and her husband are both lovely, we felt so at home during this stay. She even invited us to a local izakaya with her, unfortunately we had a tour that evening but would have been lovely to have joined. Hopefully we can meet again someday.
Room is good sized and air con worked well. Having access to the kitchen and the laundry facilities was really great (Although we were a little unclear on whether we could use them at first when we were on a short stay, Kana reassured us it was fine).
Location is good, only a couple of stops away from Shinjuku where you can then change to most other lines.

Staying at Kana-san and Isao-san place was comfortable. The house is functional and cosier than a guest house or a hotel room. The bed could have been a bit more comfty. I was able to sleep enough but never felt completly refreshed. If you tend to sleep late, it's in front of a school. The bells and kids shouts didn't bother me but you better to be aware of it. At night, it's very quiet, difficult to find in Tokyo ^_^ Everything was very good =)
About the location, it's very close to the metro station (Ochiai-minami-nagasaki station, 4 min walk) and the Ōdeo line goes straight to Shinjuku, Yoyogi, Roppongi, Daimon stations which are connected to most of JR, Yamanote and others lines. Very practical starting place to visit Tokyo and travel further / one day trip (Nikko, Kamakura, Hakone, Fuji-san in my case). And there are 2 konbinis and a few izakayas / food stores nearby (5 min walk, 1 min from the station). Really convenient.
Kana is very kind and helpful. She tries her best to provide the needed information and helped to do some researchs too, because I can't read Japanese (and translators are still so-so). She's patient, knowledgeable and curious, making her a very pleasant person to talk to. Isao-san works a lot outside, he's very kind too but there were too few opportunities to share with.
► I'd recommend to stay at Kana's house, especially for single travellers.
Everything was very easy to organise from there. Thank you again Kana-san ^_^May 2024
Kana was lovely.
She was very welcoming and she even took me to an izakaya and introduced me to many other lovely Japanese people. Kana is very open and loves meeting new people. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a welcoming and warm host.
The location is also very nice and the locals in that area very accepting (in my opinion) of foreigners.
After staying at this place I now have a new friend whom I hope I will stay in contact with in the future.
Again thankyou Kana for the lovely experience.May 2024

This was my 1st experience with HomeStay & was not sure what to expect w/the sharing of bathroom, But all went smoothly. Experience from check-in to check-out was both delightful & comfortable. Also was not sure about comfort of bunk beds from photo, but be rest assured that comfy they were! Kana made us feel right at home and absolutely love her cheerful personality & smile.
Thank You so much Guys & will see you for another weeks stay in couple weeks!!Host reply
