This is Jern (37) and my wife, Kai (35). We are farmers who started to practice self-sufficient since a year ago. We are staying in a small village in Penang. We have a land of 2 acres and we are using a third of it for our farm. You are welcomed to stay with us if you like to experience farm life together with us.
We will provide at least 3 meals a day, and sometimes tea and snack session. We use the produces from our farm mainly for our meals.
You will be staying in one of the rooms in our house. Shared bathroom. You can have access to the entire property except our room :-)
Additional Info
Guests will have access to the entire property except host's private room. Hot water shower is available all day. Free WIFI, living room with 42" TV, kitchen with stove, oven and fridge and washing machine (all of them are available for use). Clean towel will be provided and hair dryer is available.
Parking lot is available if you drive your own vehicle. Feel free to walk around our small garden.
You will easily get us during your stay if you need any help. Please feel free to find us if you need any travel information. We are just staying at first floor of the house. We can speak English, Mandarin, Malay and Hokkien (Penang dialect). Hence no worry for communication problem. We can also bring you around places of interest in Penang if you wish (further discussion).

Thank you Jern, Kai, CB & Sama!! The room was large and comfortable with air con! We had a fun and memorable time staying at the house in Penang. During our time we were always welcomed with smiles and warm hearts. This was one of our favourite homestays. We learnt how to play mahjong, saw beautiful sunsets, experienced Chinese New Year, ate the biggest roti tissu and went for a lovely nature hike behind the house. We hope to return one day!

I had a really great stay at Jern and Kai Homestay in Penang. The room was perfect but most important the hosts were so kind. I felt like home. They gave me a lot of information about what not be missed in Penang. Jern and Kai were always ready to help. I will never forget their hospitality. Thank you so much!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
