The Space

We have 1 guest room, suitable for 1 or 2 people. The guest bathroom is on the ground floor. The guest room is on the first floor.
Breakfast
---------------
The optional breakfast consists of fresh home-baked bread, Swedish knäckebröd, cheese, butter, coffee or tea, and breakfast cereals with milk or yoghurt, fresh fruit and home-cooked jam. The price is 85 SEK per person per day.
A convenience store is 700 meters away, open all days from 8AM to 10PM.

All beds come with sheets and bedding. Towels are provided to all guests. Hair dryer available.
Guest bathroom with toilet, wash basin and shower. We have our own bathroom, so the guest bathroom will be yours during your stay.
Free wifi.
Free water, coffee and tea all day.
We have a selection of maps and tourist brochures in multiple languages waiting for you.
Kitchen is only available for light cooking between 6 AM and 10 PM.

We aim to be present during your stay and serve breakfast, as well as be available in case you have any questions.
We respect each guests individuality and respect that you might not be interested in conversations at the kitchen table.
We welcome guests for short stays, but are not interested in long stays or permanent room mates.
We speak English, Swedish, Dutch, French and some German.
The Neighbourhood

The house and surrounding buildings are all strictly non-smoking.
The outer yard provides a playground for children, in a car-free environment.
Summertime, you can enjoy the sun on our patio. Wintertime, you can go cross-country skiing at the tracks, on just 5 minutes walking distance.
Our house is in a quiet neighbourhood at the outskirts of town, yet with excellent access to public transportation. The city centre is only 20 min away by bus, 10 min by car or 30 min by bike.
We live just on a 2 minute drive from the E4 motor way, so perfect if you are just passing through.
We live close by from lake Nydala and there are also nice walking paths in the forest on just 2 min walking distance.
We can recommend visiting the moose farm Älgens Hus in Bjurholm (70 km drive), going for a walk by the stream just 10 min away and maybe catch some fish. Enjoy the purity of Swedish nature while enjoying your stay with us.
Getting around

Public transport is well organised in Umeå. A bus stop is just 300 m away. During rush hour you can catch a bus every 5 minutes to town, hospital or university.
Should you come by car, we have 1 free parking spot available.
Should you come by plane, you can catch the airport coach, and switch to a local bus to get to our house.
Detailed info about how to reach our place will be sent to you once the booking is confirmed.

House Rules
We are welcoming everybody and keep an open mind.
As in all Swedish houses, we kindly ask you to take of your shoes inside.
Smoking indoor or on the patios is forbidden. We ask guests to not make noise late at night, and to respect our or other neighbours property.
As we want to have an allergy friendly environment, we do not allow pets and we ask you not to use any cosmetics with perfumes, such as deodorants, hair spray, body lotion, perfumes, ... during your stay.
We encourage direct communication, so in case something is not to your liking or you are missing something, please do tell us immediately so we can resolve the issue.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
