Pleasant and quiet apartment

Io e mia madre ci siamo recata a barcellona la prima settimana di settembre. Ci siamo trovate benissimo a casa di julio si trova in una posizione strategica nel pieno centro di barceloneta attaccato alla spiaggia e a 5 minuti a piedi dalla metropolitana. Lui è un padrone di casa unico davvero è stato in grado fin da subito di aiutarci in ogni aspetto e rendersi disponibile. Il mio soggiorno in questo appartamento piccolo ma molto accogliente e tipico ha reso la nostra esperienza magica. Tornerò sicuramente. Lo consiglio a tutti.

The apartment was hard to find but once found, it was close to some attractions, with a 3 minute walk to the nearest beach, and 15 minutes to the famous Ramblas.
I only met the owner once on the first evening and he was helpful, as best he could, with very little English. I had actually beeen communicating with his friend.
No breakfast was provided so we went out each day.
Now the downside.Its a very, very tiny one room with a part partition separating the 2 beds. There is no such thing as privacy.
I understand why there are no photos of the outside of the building as no one would everchoose to stay there.The outside and the very narrow stairs did not smell too good, but once you get up 2 flights of stairs, the room was adequate for a night ore two

We loved this wonderful little apartment, very convenient for sightseeing, the metro, rail station and the beach. We were met promptly and the short tour of the immediate locality was useful. Welcoming. Friendly. Good English. No complaints. A+++++

Cesar (we call him Julio) has a lovely apartment in Barceloneta, a Spanish (mainly Catalonian) 'village' bounded by a port area (with many luxury yachts) Barcelona city and cute, sandy Barceloneta beach. There are countless bars and night clubs looking on to the port and the beach, but for a less 'tourist' experience, the bars and restaurants around the impressive market offer fresh, local specialties at reasonable prices. The apartment is a couple of minutes from the beach (really!) and from the market. On foot, the metro is maybe 5 minutes away and the rail station (Franca) is not much further. The Wikipedia page on Barceloneta says "Towards the beach, one might come across balconies with clothes hanging to dry ... " Yes! This is it.

We want to end on a minor negative note. This apartment is perfectly situated for a fun-filled vacation: for beach time with friends, drinking and late nights at the clubs along the front. Please don't do that. In this tiny patch of authentic day-to-day life, your neighbors need to get some sleep and go to work in the morning.
