We are a mature couple who have hosted international students for many years with great success. We live in a two-storyed modern town-house in the suburb of North New Brighton. We are within walking distance to shops and some lovely wetland walks. The bus service to the central city from here is excellent.
We have a cat and a parrot who are very much a part of our family. We enjoy walking, mountain biking and cooking especially for other people.
We have wi-fi in the house and a very large smart 3D television. The homestay bedroom is a double room with it's own television and DVD player.

About the Area
Our house is on the east side of Christchurch approximately 5km from the central city and serviced by a great bus route. The bus stop is about a 2-3 minute walk from the house.
We have two small shopping centres very close by and a large shopping mall a 10 minute bus ride away.
The beach is also a 5 minute drive.

We request that you minimise noise when others in the house are sleeping.
The bathroom fan must be turned on when you are showering.

Martin and Joy are very warm, welcoming, and helpful hosts. Their comfortable home is immaculately clean and tidy. They are very knowledgeable about Christchurch's earthquakes. We learned a great deal about their area and the future of Christchurch.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
