My name is Karen and my home is 12 km away from cairns in Machans Beach . We are one street back from the beach . I have 2 room options available to homestay guests.
Karen is 41. She speaks Japanese and enjoys sports, music, gigs, festivals, learning foreign languages, travel, gardening, board games, and fashion design. We do not have wifi but you can hotspot your laptops to your phones
There are 2 options at our house where you can have your own private bathroom and mini kitchen.
Easy walk to the beach . There is no airconditioning. But it’s cool
In the bedrooms. You have your own bathrooms and mini kitchens and the surroundings is lovely.
Additional Info
There is no better way to learn a foreign language than to speak it in everyday situations. Your host Karen offers qualified language instruction in her native language English. One hour of instruction costs 40.00 AUD. The classes will be given by the host himself at the accommodation.

Our house is a great location if you want to stay in Machans Beach. Don't worry as soon as you complete your booking and pay your deposit online you will get an email with our exact address.
Meals

Please keep our home secure and double-lock the front door when entering and leaving the house
Please do not adjust the heat settings yourself, ask me and I will happily do it for you

Please do not invite strangers into our home; if you would like to invite a friend over just agree it with me in advance

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
