Welcome all travelers, students, artists, musicians, writers, thinkers, healers, circus performers, backpackers and millionaires to our unique home in inner-city Melbourne ~ the Charles Street Milkbar, located in Abbotsford's most beautiful tree-lined street.
Charles Street in Abbotsford is very close to all public transport services - train, tram and bus. We are so close to where we usually need to go that we either walk or get around on a push-bike to shops, cafes and restaurants, bars and clubs, libraries and museums.
My neighbourhood is earthy, arty, friendly; my home, spacious and light-filled. The old shop facing the street is now an art space and gallery. It is also our living room. The bedrooms are behind the shop while the shared facilities are at the back - kitchen, bathroom, backyard and outside dunny.
My world is lined with books, littered with African art, dotted with musical instruments and busting with old cool stuff collected from past travels and accumulated over past lives. Wherever you're from, wherever you've been, staying for a few weeks or a year, make the Charles St Milkbar your home in Melbourne.

About the Area

Abbotsford is a unique neighbourhood, friendly, cosmopolitan, working class ethos, a mixed-bag Australia, immigrants, artists, iconic pubs, cheap eats, trendy cocktail bars, unwashed hipsters, gay men and women, young couples, some with children, some with dogs. When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile.
