We are a friendly (does everyone say that?!) couple living in a lovely home close to the beach. We bought our home 5 years ago and have enjoyed renovating it to a high standard. You would have your own recently decorated bedroom and your own bathroom. You would have access to the internet (not included in rent). I enjoy cooking and evening meals can be negotiated (a light breakfast is included in the room rate). We are close to the beach, marina, shopping centre, library, Tafe and University. We are also very handy to the train station - I take the train every day to work and on the express it is only 25 minutes to Perth city. I love being in the city all week and then by the coast on weekends. There are some great parks around here and some nice walks. We love this area.
I am English and moved to Australia 20 years ago. My husband is Welsh and has lived in Australia for 8 years. We have only been married for 7 years and you will find us a very happy couple. We are quite social and have a good network of friends but we also enjoy our quiet times at home; especially outside enjoying the garden and patio; we love to bbq and host friends outside. We are both well-travelled and appreciate the diversity of people and other cultures. We enjoy having visitors in our home. We are the type of people that have enduring friendships. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to be a part of your travelling plans.

About the Area
Our house is close to the beach, major shops, train station (which I use through the week for work). We are about 30km from the city of Perth - 25 mins on express train. We rarely travel into the city on weekends as we are closer to the city of Joondalup and there are a lot of local restaurants, cafes and things to do in our immediate area. The bus stop to the train station is about 5 min walk - however, if we are home (and my husband is usually home) we would happily give you a lift to the train station as it is less than 10 minute drive.

House Rules
We are pretty easy going but do ask anyone staying to be respectful of our home and our belongings; as we will respect you and your belongings while you are with us. You will be free to use the kitchen and rest of the house at our discretion but we ask you to leave it as you find it. Owner prefers to do own cooking but if you enjoy cooking meals yourself we are open to this by prior arrangement at time of booking (eg use of the kitchen for cooking around standard/normal meal times - lunchtime/dinner time; rather than all hours of the day/night). Please do not adjust the heat/air con settings yourself but ask us. Please do not invite anyone we have not met into our home; if you would like to invite a friend (and we'd like to encourage you to make friends in Australia!) just agree it with us in advance.
Smoking Rules
Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is not allowed.

It was an amazing experience to stay with host Karen. You feel really at ease, happy and very helpful with them. Karen and her husband have a very good sense of humor and always there to care for you. They have helped me a lot to plan my itinerary to visit Perth. I found a lot of space there and they knew very well how treat a human being. I advise anyone who want to go to Australia, you will not regret your stay with Karen. Thank you, and best of luck.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
