Heiko was an amazing host, I had previously been to Cuba but didnt go the Homestay route, I had previously chose a hhotel. My experience with Homestay makes it my primary and most likely choice for all my future visits. Not only were they my hosts but they were also my guides to Cuba. Heiko and her family have to be the most pleasant person of all Cuba. Not only did they provide breakfast lunch and dinner but they offered a private room equipped with a bathroom and room, but also a nice terrace with a gorgeous view. It was by far my most wonderful experience.

Great location, 10 minutes walk to historical town, taxi for 5 CUC to bus terminal and 10 CUC to airport, room is independent, located on the roof and confortable though no adequate storing space for suitcase or clothes. Curtains bars need to be fixed properly too. All working well, fan, (old) AC and hot shower! Theresa is a very friendly and lively person.

Really nice, comfortable and independent room with its own balcony and a rooftop terrace, with great view. In a great location just 10’ from Parque Cespedes, Cathedral, Diego Velazquez casa, José Antonio Saco street and other important sites of the city. Really tasty, freshly made and on time breakfast and meals. Great people, willing to help you, always smiling and keeping you good company. It was a pleasure to meet them! Thank you for your hospitality! We'll be back for sure. Saludos a todos!!
*The viazul station is not far away but you’ll need a taxi. They should ask you no more than 4-5 cuc. If you visit Cementerio Santa Ifigenia the price should be 5-6 cuc. Always negotiate the price with taxi drivers.
**Remember that you are in Cuba and it's an everyday struggle for people there to find goods (which for most people around the world are standard) just to please you. So give them unconditionally your most beautiful smile and say "thank you"!December 2016
This Casa is in a fabulous location, being only a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Santiago de Cuba. The room is up some stairs, away from the main house and is very private. Outside of the room are 2 terraces, which are great for sunbathing and looking out over the city and to the sea. The room itself was clean and bright. Air con was good, and the fridge was stocked with soft drinks and beer. The bed was fine, but the mattress could have done with replacing. Theresa was very welcoming, and we managed to communicate even with her limited English. She organised a beautiful 50's Plymouth to take us to the airport at the end of our stay.
