Many sincere thanks to the host for the experience gained in getting to know better Japanese traditions and lifestyle.
Maybe I was a little bit confused at the beginning because of not so usual casual domestic surrounding, but the host’s sincerity, knowledge of traditions and goodwill helped to adapt and feel comfortable and evaluate the advantages of optimally set Japanese household.
I do recommend to stay in!
Thanks a lot the host and hope to come back.
Kumiko san is a very nice host. My stay had its fair share of happiness, entertainment, great food and comfort. Overall a great place to stay. Keep it up!

Very good experience to stay together with kumiko family. We had this opportunity to have a new year food together.
Kumiko family are nice and helpful.
Thank you for bringing us to Onsen very like it so much.
Everything not sure she will guide us along. She taught us some Japanese language as well. We love it so much.
If you want some real Japan experiance, try this family. Kumi was helping a lot to understand the japanese style of living :) It's probably the best price performance that you can get! I had much fun here and it's not to far away from center.
Kumi-San was a wonderful host and her home couldn't be any lovelier. She invites most with open arms, even when you are a challenge like myself. She helps you dive into the Japanese culture via her cooking and suggested events. Her home is located in on the outskirts of Tokyo but it is a very nice community! ❤️❤️❤️I'll definitely book again!
Living with a Japanese family was surely a very interesting start of my longer stay in Japan, and the purpose for me, learning different aspects about the Japanese culture, was indeed fulfilled at this home stay family. Summarized, I can therefore recommend anybody to try home stay when you are coming to Japan, and not being able to compare this host to other ones my guess is Kumi san is at least as good as any other host.
Staying for a slightly longer period myself at her place (2 months) I kind of had to get used to the idea that living with Kumi san is really like living with a family, not unlike back at my parents place. I think I was unconsciously expecting somewhat more privacy and distance like in a hostel, so heads up for that. (Some other guest staying at the same time as me had more trouble coping with this, and was sort of counting the days until the end). After I got used to this 'Japanese culture shock' (with the for westerners peculiar house rules) it turned out to be quite nice. The host is definitely very helpful and friendly, cooks something new every night, and whenever you and her both have the time takes you around town.
Best of luck to her and her daughter, and to all of you who wish to stay in Japan: enjoy!
Kumi's home and hospitality was absolutely fantastic! Kumi-san was incredibly helpful and understanding, and regularly took us to see some wonderfully Japanese things, like the onsen, karaoke and sushi! Even when we went off to do our own thing, we always returned to be greeted by a smile :) It is a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk to station and a seven-eleven shop which is just around the corner (which has an international ATM!). There's also a huge shopping centre about 10 minutes walk away which was also very useful for getting lunch or new socks! But it has a lot of lovely treats in it too, like a food market and even a starbucks. The area itself is very lovely, and lots of interesting little shops to go and have a gander in. Overall, me and my two friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tokyo and we can't imagine ever staying anywhere else again! We think very fondly of Kumi-san and Lisa-San and their warm and welcoming home, and look forward to returning with great anticipation! If you want a homestay that will make you laugh and introduce you to lots of interesting new things, then definitely go here! Thanks so much for looking after us! どうもありがとう! x
The stay at Kumis house was a great experience and i would definitely recommend it to everyone, who wants to learn about Japanese- or Tokyo's culture whether urban or traditional.
The location is, like the previous commentators already mentioned, very convenient and only a few minutes away from a seven&i holdings(7eleven 24h shop), a big mall called Ario and the Kameari station.
Kumi is a caring mother from the books, she is always willed to give you advice for making the best out of your trip and helping you, when you got questions about something.
During your stay you will probably have other guests in the house, which is great because you have the chance to meet people from whole different corners of the world and when you are willed to spend time with them you will be able to see new viewpoints on global events or just have entertaining conversations about anything (i would like to add a smiley here but that feels unprofessional).
As i already said, i recommend Kumis house to everyone and for myself i will definitely come back.
Staying at Kumi's house for the summer was a great decision.
First of all, it's in a pretty convenient location (a few minutes away from a 7-Eleven, a large mall, and the metro station). The neighborhood is generally quiet, but there's enough restaurants and shopping within a few minutes' to satisfy you on days when you don't want to go to the center of Tokyo.
Day to day life at Kumi's is also made a lot better by the fact that she is an excellent cook. Included with rent, guests get breakfast and dinner 6 days a week. Kumi prepares an impressive variety of authentic dishes that lets you discover some delicious new favorites.
Lastly, while staying here you'll find that you form great friendships with the hosts and other guests. There are always plenty of people staying in the house (i.e., potential new friends), and group dinners and other activities (like trips to the hot springs, karaoke, or other local attractions) are quite fun.
Staying at Kumi's house will make your time in Japan that much better!
