Kana-san is the best person I could hope for my first week in Japan. She's really nice and always go out of her way to help her guest (as an example I got multiple small health problem such as runny nose, headache, sore muscles, itchy skin... and every time she was there to give me an adequate medicine) I enjoyed sharing my meals with her every night as she cooks really well and she is an interesting person to talk to.
She's always ready to give advice about where to go and what to visit. Her husband, Isao-san is also a very nice person, even though he works a lot and I hadn't the opportunity to talk too much with him.
The home is nice and clean, located in a nice neighbourhood, right next to an elementary school, so it was always heartwarming to hear and see the kids everyday. I enjoyed taking a hot bath every night in the pure Japanese fashion.
The room itself has everything we can need, I was especially happy to find a power adapter as I brought an uncompatible one to Japan. The only bad thing I can think about is that the bad was maybe a bit too hard for me and slightly hurt my back in the beginning, but I got used to it after a few days.
Kana-san also put a lot of cute post-it notes everywhere in the house to remind us of the rules, so we always know how to act appropriately.
My only regret is that my Japanese isn't good enough and I couldn't tell Kana-san everything I wanted to tell her about.

Anyway, I'd definitely enjoy coming back to Kana-san homestay as soon as possible !

I stayed at Kana-San and Isao-San's homestay for 4 weeks and it has been an amazing experience. The place is greatly located and well connected, being 20 min from Shinjuku station, in a cute neighbourhood that is walking distance from Higashi Nagazaki, Nakano and Higashi Nakano. The room itself is big and clean and the house is clean, nice and welcoming.
Since I came for a language course and hoped for full immersion, I was very happy to be able to hang out and chat with Kana-San, who is a wonderful host, and cute doggy Riko-Chan. She showed me amazing places (ask for the Tantanmen spot and Afghan restaurant ;), allowed me to join her shodo class with Japanese students and we even went to DisneySea together, where she was a super knowledgeable guide. I think I found a great friend in Tokyo and would go back for sure if I had the occasion. どうもありがとうございました。

Kana-san and Isao-san provided a wonderful place to stay in! They keep their home very clean and they are very welcoming. Their home is a very short walk from the train station, from a few bars and from a few restaurants including a very good ramen shop! I stayed during New Years week and Kana-san prepared a delicious, tradition homemade New Years meal which was a great way to experience true Japanese culture. The two weeks I stayed at this HomeStay were terrific, and i plan on returning if the opportunity is available!

I was for 4.5 months. She was really helpful and gave me so many tips. You can ask her everything. Her house is only 20 minutes from Shinjuku station with the subway, so it's really near from the center.
If both rooms are available, you can choose which one you like. One of them is a little bit bigger(the one with the bunk bed) But both are rooms are good.
And her dog is so cute.
I had a great time in her house and I earned a real friend. I'm really thankful for everything she did for me.

At the center of October 2018, I spent a couple of days and nights at the house of Kana and her husband. It wasn’t the first time I did home-staying, so I was pretty sure the experience would be great. Especially judging from the first contacts we had which were pretty nice. Booking and all the considerations beforehand were taken care of in a pretty smooth way and communication was great.
But – as often when I am on the road, the start always gets a bit messy. I don’t know. I always get lost in translation. The same case here. Being lost in the mixture between metro and JR, and arrived at some place somewhere else. I don’t even know how I ended there.
No problem – Kana was at home and even on the way to her house, we were in touch, and she guided me through all the chaos that normally surrounds my travels until I finally arrive. Phew. What a start.
The house itself is cozy and sweet, having space and rooms for the guests as well as for the family, and at least for me, it felt very comfortable. On one hand, I had my free time and my space, where I could do what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do my stuff, on the other hand, I was always free to have a chat with Kana, her guests and her husband. I never had the feeling I would disturb anyone, and the open-minded aura, that Kana radiates, makes you just comfortable to be around her.
The place itself is close to Ochiai-Minami-Nagasaki Station, as subway station that is served by the Toei Oedo Line. From there, you can take the train into the direction of Nerima or Shinjuku, which makes the station quite a convenient place to travel from.
You will find small convenient stores and a street restaurant next to the station, which makes it quite easy for you to get stuff for your daily life or just enjoy a fast dinner in the evening.
The house is located near an elementary school, which has no effect on the guests so far, but is quite interesting as even from the outside you can witness differences of the Japanese school system to – for example – the European school system.
All in all the area around Kanas house reflects the wonderful atmosphere you experience at her home.
I absolutely enjoyed my stay there and - assumed the dog doesn't vote against it - I will come back some day.

My Vacation to Tokyo was a life-changing experience. Such a Beautiful City, with so much to see. But what really made my stay in Tokyo to an experience, I will never Forget, was staying at Kana and her Family. During my stay I allways had the Feeling that I am a Part of the Family. I was and I still am totally overwhelmed, receiving so much kindness and love. I wish that I could have been at Kana for a much longer time. Thank you very very much for everything Kana, and I hope to see you as soon as possible.
